The 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational is taking place this week from November 12-15, 2015, at the Club de Golf Mexico located in Mexico City. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the LPGA women golfers to win at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
This tournament has been played since 2008. To date, no player has won the Lorena Ochoa Invitational more than once. Notable winners include Michelle Wie who won her first LPA Tournament here in 2009, Cristie Kerr who won in 2012, and Lexi Thompson who won in 2013.
The Lorena Ochoa Invitational is a select limited field of 36 players tournament. Invitations are determined by the top five ranked women players in the world plus the top 26 women on the LPGA money list not ranked in the top five and the field is filled out with five sponsor exemptions.
Total prize money at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational is $1 million. The same amount of money as last year and since 2011. The winner’s share below is set in stone but the other amounts might vary slightly based upon ties and if any women withdraw. All women LPGA players who complete the tournament will earn a paycheck of at least $7,250.
- Winner – $200,000
The winner of the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico will earn a paycheck of $200,000. That is the same amount of prize money that Christina Kim earned when she won the tournament last year. It’s also the same amount of prize money that Cristie Kerr earned when she won in 2012 and Lexi Thompson earned when she won in 2013.
- Second place – $103,449
Second place is worth $103,449 at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational. That is the same amount of prize money that Shanshan Feng earned when she finished second here last year. Stacy Lewis earned the same amount when she finished second here in 2013.
- Third place – $75,045
Third place at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational is worth $75,045. That’s the same amount of prize money Inbee Park earned here last year when she finished in third place. So Yeon Ryu earned $75,045 when she finished third here in 2013.
- Fourth place – $58,053
Fourth place is worth $58,053 at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Brittany Lincicome and So Yeon Ryu split $104,780 with each player earning $52,390 when they tied for fourth place last year. Inbee Park earned $58,053 when she finished alone in fourth place here in 2013.
- Fifth place – $46,727
Fifth place is worth $46,727 at the 2015 Lorena Ochoa Classic. In 2013, Suzann Pettersen and Pornanong Phatlum split $84,958 with each player earning $42,479 when they tied for fifth place in this tournament in Mexico.
