Tamsin: “You don’t think I can dupe a bunch of girls who think clapping is a sport?”
Dyson: “Well you don’t exactly scream perky.”
“Clear Eyes Fae Hearts” is the May 21 episode of “Lost Girl.” Warning: this article does contain spoilers. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. “Lost Girl” airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. CT on Syfy.
For some reason, the fae cult has targeted a football team. Everyone was involved on this case. Dyson and Mark (weird, yes) worked it from a cop angle. Bo and Tamsin went undercover, as did Lauren, to get some samples. Trick provided his wisdom.
The whole team was involved, which hasn’t happened in awhile. To make things even better, there were team pow wows. Everyone came together to brainstorm, fill each other in, and to just catch up on things. These scenes have been missing from “Lost Girl,” and it is so great to have them back, especially since this fae cult has been a part of every case so far.
Turns out this fae cult is a fae ancient family. They said that Clay, a descendent of Hercules, is their son. Who are these people then and how is Hades connected? Elizabeth, apparently, can control the weather and send lightning at people. Does this make her Zeus?
The fae family twist is a lot more interesting than a fae cult, personally. This isn’t some slightly crazy group of fae who are murdering people (also known as risk management) out of a strange belief. This family has their own agenda and are far more dangerous than a cult. What are your theories on the family?
This was a fun Tamsin episode. She was defiant and set out to prove herself not only to Dyson and Lauren, but to a very rude cheerleader named Brinkley. Feisty Tamsin was entertaining. Her cover as a cheerleader made sense, but how did no one notice this random football player who actually got play time even though “he” had never been a practice before?
The football part of her cover just didn’t really work, and it ended up being completely unnecessary to the mission. There wasn’t time with Tamsin keeping an eye out of things on the field, making sure there weren’t any deadly distractions happening. Instead, there was just the insanely awesome game winning catch. What did you think of Tamin’s undercover work?
Curiously, Bo hasn’t shared with anyone other than Tamsin that her dad is Hades. She even purposely kept it from Dyson when she slipped up. Maybe Bo isn’t sharing because she doesn’t want people to know she is connected to someone so dark. However, with the new knowledge that the fae cult is an ancient family connected to Hercules, Bo should probably start sharing her father’s identity.
Bo called Tamsin her roommate. Tamsin called Bo her girlfriend. Bo was not expecting that. The look on Bo’s face as realization dawned was a little painful, like she realized that she had been unknowingly leading Tamsin along. Being friends or friends with benefits with a succubus can cause the lines to blur a bit. The question is, how will Bo handle this new development?
Mark and Dyson are bonding. We definitely missed some steps because instead of being snarky and rude to Dyson, Mark actually listened and had some friendly banter with Dyson. It was a weird adjustment. What would have helped make this transition less awkward was if Dyson told Bo more of how it was going with Mark, commenting on the steps they had made and where there still needs work.
What did you think of the episode? Any ideas why Iris is sort of helping out the team by giving Mark inside information? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below.
