August 22, 2015- Public Star Party at the Griffith Observatory (FREE ADMISSION)
This Saturday August 22nd, the Griffith Observatory with the assistance of volunteers from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society, the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers, and The Planetary Society will host a public star party from 2:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. to observe the cosmos.
This is your chance for the whole family to look at the solar system (the Sun, Moon, and visible planets), to try out a variety of telescopes, and speak with knowledgeable amateur astronomers about the sky and their equipment.
TIP: Please be aware that the astronomers and telescope demonstrators must cut off the line for each telescope to enable all viewing to be completed by 9:45 p.m. Hours for telescope operation are not the same as for the building (which closes at 10:00 p.m.).

August 29th, 2015- Street Food Cinema partners with Manhattan Beach Chamber for this special screening of Beetlejuice featuring tasty local restaurants in one place!
Head on over to Manhattan Beach for good-natured and ghoulish family fun and watch the film Beetlejuice, enjoy tasty food trucks, and delight in great music — and feel free to bring your four-legged family members, because this event is dog-friendly. Beetlejuice is a classic 80’s film where a couple of recently deceased ghosts contract the services of a “bio-exorcist” in order to remove the obnoxious new owners of their house. There will also be the following food trucks bring bliss to your bellies including, the Berlin Food Truck, Best Gumbo in the Hood, Bison Burger, Bread Crumbs Gourmet Sandwiches, The Carnival Truck, Dog Haus, KnowRealityPie, Le Croissant, Sabores de Mexico, Union Pizza, Frank & Grind, Main Squeeze Lemonade & more! September 5-7, 2015- Fiesta Hermosa Labor Day Weekend at Hermosa Beach (FREE ADMISSION, FEES FOR FOOD/DRINKS, CARNIVAL RIDES, & PETTING ZOO)
Mark your calendars to go beach bound this Labor Day Weekend with the entire family for the fun-loving and laid-back twice-annual arts and crafts show at the Hermosa Beach pier. This family-centered fair features over 300 artists and crafters, two stages featuring live music, a food court filled with goodies from fine fare to sweet treats, a Charity Beer & Wine Garden for the adults — and a Kiddie Carnival featuring a 30 foot slide, mechanical rides, rock climbing wall and bungee jump, and games for kids from 3 to 10 years old.
