Want to take a break and read a good book? Or maybe you need to get access to the Internet? The Indian River Library systems has all of the resources you need. You can check out a book, rent a movie, log onto the Internet or research your family’s history at one of the area branches.
Here are the different branches available as part of the Indian River County Library system:
The Vero Beach Branch is considered the Main Library and is located at 1600 21st Street in Vero Beach. For additional information call 772.770.5060. The Main Library is open Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
The North Indian River County Library, also known as the Sebastian Branch is located at 1001 Sebastian Blvd. in Sebastian. For additional information call 772.589.1355. The Sebastian Library is open Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., on Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. This library branch is closed on Sunday.
The Brackett Library is located at the Mueller Campus of Indian River State College at 6155 College Lane in Vero Beach. For more information call 772.226.3080. The Brackett Library is open on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Tuesday and Wednesday from noon until 8 p.m. This branch is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Gifford Youth Activity Center is home to another branch of the Indian River Library System and is located at 4875 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach. For more information call 772.794.5563. This branch is open Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
If you are looking to access some legal guides and books, the Indian River Library System also has a Law Library, which is located at 2000 16th Avenue, Suite 119 in Vero Beach. For additional information call 772.770.5157. The Law Library branch is open from 8:30 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Most branches offer similar services, but if you are looking for something specific, it is best to call ahead to ensure the branch you are going to has what you need.
Not from the area but still need to use the services available at the library? No problem. There are non-resident cards available for those who are visiting the area or are only seasonal residents. Library cards for non-residents are $20 for six months or $30 for an entire year. Computer only cards are also available for non-residents at only $5 per year.
