Plenty of big name pop and country acts will perform in the Phoenix area in August. As for the classic rock concert schedule, it’s a lighter month, but still heavy in talent. If you’re ready for the summer heat to end, but not the fun, check out some of these concerts.
August 1, 2015, 8 p.m. BOSTON with DENNIS DE YOUNG performing the music of Styx at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix. I’ve got more than a feeling you’ll enjoy this show for a longtime. You and your babe could be rockin’ the Comerica. I don’t mean to look back, but both of these artists put on great shows in the Valley last year. Tickets range from $35 to $85, plus fees.
August 13, 2015, 9 p.m. GEORGE CLINTON & PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC at The Pressroom in Phoenix. Not the 4th Vice President of the United States but rather a pioneer of funk. No need for a flashlight as the energy will be so high, you may want to tear the roof off the sucker. Tickets are $40 for general admission and can go up to $1000 depending on how fancy you want your night to be. Of course there are fees on top of that.
August 14, 2015, 8 p.m. AMERICA at the Wild Horse Pass Ovations LIVE! Showroom in Chandler. They’re coming to the desert most likely via the Ventura highway rather than on a horse with no name. Feel free to invite the tin man, any lonely people you might know and your sister, the one with the golden hair. This is one of those shows where you go “wow, I didn’t know they did that song, they really are good.” Ticket prices run from $29-$94.
August 20, 2015, 7:30 p.m. JACKSON BROWNE at the Ikeda Theater at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa. You may need to doctor your eyes if you see some lawyers in love at this show. Even if you’re somebody’s baby your search for tickets might be running on empty as this performance is showing as sold out. Take it easy, the normal secondary ticket sellers are still out there.
August 21, 2015, 8 p.m. PAT BENATAR and NEIL GIRALDO at the Wild Horse Pass Ovations LIVE! Showroom in Chandler. For 35 years now she’s been a heartbreaker, ready to hit you with her best shot. Disproving love is a battlefield, this rock couple’s love for one another is invincible. It easy to get all fired up for this show. Tickets are priced from $45-$105.
August 26, 2015, 6:45 p.m. KID ROCK with FOREIGNER and PACKWAY HANDLE BAND at the Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix. It’s an odd pairing to be sure, but it’s a chance to see Foreigner. Have to credit Kid Rock for offering the majority of tickets for $20 but some good seats remain if you want to upgrade to official Kid Rock Platinum Tickets and pay from $65 to $125 plus fees and taxes.
August 28, 2015, 8 p.m. HEART at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. You won’t be alone for this concert as many of Ann and Nancy Wilson’s fans have already gobbled up tickets faster than a hungry barracuda all ready to go crazy on them. Get ready to kick it out because it will be magic, man. Ticket prices run from $71-$101, plus fees.
