Dr. Eve Feinberg of Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) will host an egg freezing party with complimentary appetizers and cocktails at Flight Neighborhood Bar, Restaurant & Market, 1820 Tower Drive, Glenview, IL 60026 on the evening of December 1st from 5:00 pm -8 pm. Dr. Feinberg has helped hundreds of women freeze their biological clocks in her capacity as the medical director of the FCI Center for Fertility Preservation.
According to the Pew Research Center birth rates are at an all-time low among women in their teens and early 20s, while birth rates among women in their early 40s are at the highest level in 40 years. While freezing eggs does not guarantee a future child, it does increase chances of success, now that the process is being covered by corporations such as Facebook and Apple, preserving female fertility has officially joined the mainstream. In fact FCI saw a 32% increase in women freezing their eggs to delay childbearing between 2013-2014, and reports they are on track to help over 325 women preserve their fertility by the end of this year.
To educate and empower women to make a choice that is right for them, Dr. Feinberg and FCI staff will host an egg freezing conversation followed by a Q & A session at the event. With egg freezing being covered by corporations such as Facebook and Apple, preserving female fertility has officially joined the mainstream.
“In modern times, women don’t have to choose between having a family or traveling and focusing on their career,” explains Dr. Feinberg. “But being able to have it all also comes with responsibility. It’s important for women to be educated regarding their fertility potential and to answer hard personal questions about family planning now rather than later”.
During the Egg Freezing Party, she will discuss the following topics: What age women should start considering egg freezing and who is a candidate; The process of freezing your eggs – from consult to procedure; How many eggs are required to increase chances of success in the future; Why freezing (vitrification) techniques are a critical piece of the puzzle; The costs involved as well as financing options available; Fertility testing available to estimate quality/quantity of current ovarian reserve; and Female fertility basics to better under personal fertility potential.
