According to a press release via email this evening, Angela Johnson, “a locally-well-known local fashion industry professional with nearly 20 years’ experience in the fashion industry who has earned a reputation as an Arizona fashion industry insider and supporter,” has officially launched a new all-fashion directory online. Run by fashion professionals for fashion professionals, the site already has over 200 fashion businesses listed in the directory.
The site, http://www.labelhorde.com, lets searchers “easily locate local emerging and established designers, boutiques, manufacturers, photographers, models, stylists, industry supplies, fashion schools and all things fashion related in Arizona.” While this sounds like a tall order, the directory is already quite useful for anyone seeking fashion talent or industry goods or services in or around the Valley of the Sun.
Originally a glossy magazine started in 2003, the directory grew to hundreds of local fashion professionals before printing was discontinued several years ago. According to the release, “with more and more fashion businesses emerging, multiple fashion weeks and new emerging designers calling Arizona home, there is even more of a need for a centralized hub/foundation for the industry and a directory to scaffold its resources. Resurrecting LabelHorde fills that need.”
With LabelHorde, Angela hopes to bring together fashion businesses to collaborate on projects and share resources. Officially, LabelHorde’s vision is: “to be the largest and most comprehensive directory of independent fashion companies. To also be a resource that connects independent fashion companies with each other and with fashion related services that they need to operate their business.”
Definitely supporting local fashion, the site also features classifieds (for local fashion jobs) and a calendar with all local upcoming events as well as national events like trade shows and fashion weeks. There’s even a services page with resources for start-up as well as established designers. There’s also already several modeling agencies listed for local models – whether you need a model or a modeling job!
While the site offers free directory listings, it also offers a $9.95 per month plan that includes a photo, full description and 25 searchable keywords. This is surely an affordable service for (almost) any business, and it seems like a great move for local fashion businesses seeking allies in the couture world.
