Knuckle Puck has announced a slew of good news for their dedicated fans. On Monday (Aug. 10), the Chicago-based band began their round of good news by premiering the music video for a new track titled “True Contrite”; a new track to be featured on their debut album, Copacetic.
The video features the band performing in a white room which eventually becomes filled with Polaroids. As the video progresses, the audience is introduced to the main character, a man, who spends most of the video sitting on a chair looking at the photographs that land on the ground.
When asked about the making of the video by Billboard, guitarist Kevin Maida revealed that it was a painstaking process to make, but well worth it in the end.
“The making of the ‘True Contrite’ music video was one of the most painstaking, rewarding experiences ever,” said Maida to the music publication.
“We basically had to shoot two music videos, one with the walls blank, then manually tape all the Polaroids to the wall, and then shoot everything again with all the Polaroids on the wall. It took a long time, but the video came out perfect.” The group’s “perfect” video for “True Contrite” can be seen above.
In addition to the new music video, the band also announced that they will be hitting the road in the fall in support of Copacetic. The group’s debut album was released back in July through Rise Records. Heading on the road alongside the five-piece will be Seaway, Sorority Noise, and Head North.
“When putting together a lineup for the headline, it was basically a no-brainer to have Seaway on it,” explained Maida about their choice to include the Canadian band on the tour lineup.
“Our first tour ever was with Seaway, so it only seemed right to put some of our greatest friends on our first headline tour. Head North and Sorority Noise are some of our favorite bands both consist of truly genuine people. It’s going to be a great fall.”
The fall tour is scheduled to begin on Oct. 14 at the Hard Luck Bar in Toronto and wrap up on Nov. 21 at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland. Pre-sales for the tour are currently available on the band’s website. The complete list of tour dates can be seen below.
