Looking at the summer of 2015, the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards created one of the most engaging red carpets thus far significantly so with an orange carpet that stretched almost as long as a football field. This year’s show scored a touchdown with multiple stars in attendance from the world of sports and entertainment.
It was a warm bright sunny day at this year’s awards show with both top athletes and Nickelodeon stars scoring points with their engaging interaction with fans and their peers. Athletes from a variety of sports fields including the NBA, NFL, and Nascar gathered together at the top of the 10 yard line forward moving on the glistening astroturf to meet fans along with the cast of Nickelodeon’s top shows setting the tone for a day of fun in the sun and excitement in the air.
Network stars arrived with smiles meeting fans while hoping to run into their favorite sports stars.
Nick Cannon arrived in a color coordinated outfit that included an orange hat matching Nickelodeon’s signature colors and bringing a festive ambience to the pre-show festivities. Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson, this year’s host, delighted fans as he greeted kids in the bleachers and peers walking beside him on the all star orange carpet.
Members of this year’s NBA Champions, the Golden State Warriors, were out in force including Klay Thompson who shot hoops alongside Nick Cannon on Nickelodeon’s signature basketball court midway of the orange astroturf. NBA Champion, Stephen Curry, arrived to the cheer of fans anticipating his entrance on the carpet with his daughter Riley and wife Ayesha.
Teen NASCAR driver, Tristan Nunez, shared with fans about his excitement of flying in to Los Angeles from Boca Raton,Florida to participate in the awards show. Nunez received cheers as being noted as the youngest professional race car driver in the USA.
UFC fighter, Tito Ortiz, spoke about how his kids inspire him as an athlete. This year’s legend award recipient, Derek Jeter, signed autographs with kids thanking them for their acknowledgment.
Cast members of Nickelodeon’s top shows were excited to be within walking distance of their favorite athletic stars. Stars from the hit series, “100 Things to do Before High School,” Jack De Sena, Owen Joyner and Jaheem Toombs, delighted in meeting members of the Golden State Warriors and shared with kids that their favorite game to play off stage is musical chairs.
“Thundermoms” star, Rosa Blasi spoke of hoping to see Gabby Douglas on the carpet. “Henry Danger” star, Cooper Barnes showed his comedic humor while mingling on the orange carpet including his possible sighting of his favorite baseball star, Babe Ruth, at the awards show. Barnes aka “Captain Man” arrived with his co-stars including Ella Anderson, Riele Downs, and Sean Fox.
The cast of “School of Rock” arrived with glee and excitement emoting about their favorite sports stars. Breanna Yde, Lance Lim, Aidan Miner were amongst cast members who shared their anticipation to hopefully meet members of this year’s NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors. Yde mentioned that they enjoyed meeting with fans, breathing air and eating cheese sticks, one of her favorite snacks.
“Every Witch Way Star” Mia Matthews dazzled in a trendy violet dress that stood out as one of the top fashion picks while sharing about her excitement to be out and about with America’s top athletes.
When it comes to the Kids Choice Sports Awards 2015, it is a brilliant choice in programming on the part of Nickelodeon. The effect of placing top athletes in a setting to be acknowledged and greeted by kids from across America is a dynamic game changer creating what best can be described as the “Kids Espys” with inspiration in the hearts of kids that is sure to last throughout the year to the next awards show.
