Khloe Kardashian recently lost 35 pounds and looks better than ever. Khloe’s trainer, Gunnar Peterson said her weight loss secrets are a soda- and dairy-free diet and rigorous workouts that combine cardio exercise, weightlifting and boxing.
“There is no typical routine,” Peterson told People. “[Our workouts incorporate] different intervals mixed up, whether it’s the motion of the interval or the duration of the interval or the intensity. Some days it’s more heart-rate intensive, some days it’s more lower-extremities intensive.”
Gunnar, who has trained Khloe since 2012, said Kardashian also boxes because it’s an intense fat-burning cardio workout that works the entire body. “[Boxing is] great for the heart rate, great for hand-to-eye, great for balance,” said Peterson. “It’s good for your body to contract upon impact.”
The key to Khloe’s dramatic weight loss is her dedication to exercise. “She never cancels,” said Gunnar. “Khloé gives as much to the gym as the gym gives to her. She’s in love with fitness.”
Kardashian, 31, recently showed off her newly slim body in a racy photo spread for Complex magazine (see video above), where she revealed she used to call herself fat so weight bullies wouldn’t.
“Sometimes I would beat people to the punch and say, ‘I’m the fat funny one,’ because that’s what people would say about me,” said Khloe. “But I never looked at myself as the fat sister.”
The curvy 5-foot-10 Khloe, who was once called “Sasquatch,” “Big Foot” and “ugly sister” by bullies, no longer tries extreme starvation diets after having tried so many fad diets in the past. Khloe limits dairy and soda intake, but still enjoys the occasional pizza and dessert.
Denies Liposuction and Butt Implant Plastic Surgery
Kardashian said getting enough sleep and drinking lots of water every day has helped her lose weight and keep it off. Khloe also credited waist training for giving her flat abs, Celebrity Health & Fitness reported.
Khloe has repeatedly denied getting extensive liposuction on her waist, stomach and legs. In a heated Twitter rant, Khloe slammed reports claiming her true weight loss secret was liposuction plastic surgery.
“I find it disgusting but maybe a compliment that I’m being accused of getting lipo done. I work out 5 days a week. I bust my *ss!” Kardashian tweeted. “I’m assuming if I’ve had any sort of surgery I would need 6-8 weeks off of any intense workout.”
Actually, plastic surgery experts say most people can resume their workout routines a few days after getting liposuction. While a celebrity getting plastic surgery is hardly shocking, Khloe has adamantly insisted her weight loss was entirely due to diet and exercise, not liposuction, after tabloids claimed she got “serious liposuction on waistline, tummy and legs.”
On a recent episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Khloe was filmed getting laser treatment to zap the cellulite off her butt and thighs. While Khloe regularly gets laser treatment, she said the rest of her body is natural and has not been enhanced by plastic surgery.
