Kevin Harvick returns to NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., this weekend to drive the No. 00 Chevrolet entry of JR Motorsports in Saturday’s truck race at the track.
“I’m excited to be back in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with JRM at Pocono Raceway,” Harvick said, via a press release from JRM. “A lot has changed at Pocono with the repave, but I was fortunate enough to find victory lane in my last Truck Series start there, and I hope we can do the same thing this time around with the Haas Automation Chevrolet.”
The Pocono race will be Harvick’s first Truck Series start since running the two races at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in 2013. In all, Harvick has 122-career starts in the Truck Series. His stats include 14 wins, 47 top-fives and 61 top-10 finishes, many of those coming under the Kevin Harvick Inc. banner.
The 2015 season is the first for JR Motorsports, a team with a primary focus on the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This year, JRM is running a partial schedule, fielding the No. 00, primarily for Cole Custer.
The Pocono race will be the seventh race for the team. In the six races so far, JRM has already won twice, once with team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Hendrick Motorsports Sprint Cup Series teammate Kasey Kahne behind the wheel at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May and the other with Custer driving at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Ill., in June.
After Pocono, JR Motorsports plans to field the No. 00 next at Bristol (Ten.) Motor Speedway in August, with Custer back in the truck.
