Whether you a grabbing a moment to unwind in front of the television or sitting down to dinner, a cold beverage can be refreshing. But, what if you are in the mood for an ice, cold coke but the kids drank your last can. Maybe you are craving an old-fashioned root beer but only want an individual serving. The answer to your beverage corundum is the new Keurig KOLD.
The newest product from Keurig is the Keurig KOLD. Unlike other soda makers, this beverage maker does not require a CO2 canister. With the touch of a button, the device creates a chilled, eight ounce carbonated beverage. It can dispense sparkling water, sodas, teas and sports drinks.
The key to a made-to-order carbonated soda is temperature. To create perfect carbonation, the beverage must be an optimum temperature. If the beverage is too hot or too cold, the carbonation will be affected. The KOLD’s chilling technique ensures that the beverage is carbonated correctly. Each beverage is dispensed at 39 degrees, which is ideal for the carbonation.
With no CO2 canister, the carbonation comes from Karbonator beads. Invented by Keurig, the Karbonator beads hold and release carbon dioxide. Through the KOLD drink making process, the Karbonator beads release CO2 into the KOLD chiller and the bubbles are added to the beverage.
Every carbonated beverage has different amount of bubbles for the best taste. The level of carbonation varies based on a brand’s recipe. The carbonation is contained within the KOLD pods. Each pod is designed to allow for the precise and consistent delivery of syrup and carbonation levels to make each beverage taste perfect. From first sip to last sip, the drink taste just as the brand wants the consumer to enjoy it.
The Keurig KOLD dispenses an eight ounce chilled beverage. Since the goal is to make a perfect beverage each and every time, the eight ounce size has been determined to create a perfect and consistent flavor. While the machine comes with two Keurig branded glasses, any 8-10 ounce glass can be used with the machine.
Available in 26 varieties by 14 brands, the compact beverage system allows optimum variety in a simplified manner. Whether in the kitchen, basement or man cave, the Keurig KOLD is like having your own personal soda machine. For the family with multiple taste preferences, the KOLD is a great way to appease everyone. The kids can enjoy a Sprite and mom can enjoy a Coke. With a variety of pods in the pantry, a family will always have a beverage option for anyone who comes through the door. Plus, with no cans to throw away or flat, wasted beverages, the KOLD is perfect for the family who enjoys a perfectly portion soda on occasion.
A few items to consider regarding the Keurig KOLD. The machine is a little larger than a Keurig coffee maker. Since the machine must be continuously plugged in (takes about the same amount of energy as a mini-refrigerator), ample counter space is ideal. Personally, a basement bar or a butler’s pantry is a great option. If families use the basement as a kids’ domain, the KOLD is a great way for kids to have an occasional glass of soda without the mess of half-drunk bottles and cans left all over the area.
In our home, the Keurig KOLD is on the basement bar. It works well for football Sunday and other gatherings. It has reduced the number of cans and two-liter bottles that litter the area. Additionally, it keeps soda consumption at a reasonable level. No one is consuming an entire two-liter bottle in one sitting.
The Keurig KOLD retails for $369 for the machine itself. The KOLD pods are sold ranging between $4.49 and $4.99 for a four pack of pods. The cost per soda averages between $.99 and $1.29 per beverage.
Change how your family enjoys their favorite carbonated beverages. Keurig KOLD pours a perfect carbonated beverage every time.
