Atlantic recording artist Kehlani has announced her You Should Be Here Summer Tour. The tour kicks off at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on July 7 and will be making a stop in Detroit on July 8 at The Shelter in Saint Andrews Hall.

The tour comes on the heels of her recently released album You Should Be Here, which sold more than 7,000 units and had over 1 million plays on Soundcloud, all within the first 24 hours. It was the week’s top selling R&B album and features the tracks “You Should Be Here” and “How That Taste.”
Kehlani was one of the breakout stars of this years South by Southwest (SXSW) festival where she performed on eight different stages. Buzzfeed and Complex took notice and Kehlani was #4 on Twitter’s “Top 5 Most Mentioned Emerging Artists at SXSW”.
The singer began her career wanting to be a dancer but a knee injury cut her dream short and sent her on the path to taking vocal training. The Bay Area-native joined the popular teen-pop combo Poplyfe in her early teens which led to the group finishing in the top 5 on NBC’s hit competition series “America’s Got Talent.”
In 2014, she broke out onto her own with the smash Cloud 19 mixtape, which revealed her wide range of influences from Lauryn Hill to Stevie Wonder to Musiq Soulchild. She went on to share the stage with some of R&B’s and hip hop’s biggest stars.
