June 5, 2015, 6:30 p.m. THE CULT and PUBLIC ENEMY at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe. There were a lot of great hard rock albums in 1989 and the Cult’s “Sonic Temple” was one of them. But the Cult has also released eight other studio albums, so there is plenty of material to draw from. How popular was the Cult? Guns and Roses once opened for them. Tickets are $50 plus fees and are general admission, standing room only.
June 5, 2015, 8 p.m. WHITESNAKE at The Pool at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. There will be no still in the night as David Coverdale may ask you, is this love. But remember, he’s no fool for your loving. Coverdale is however, a former Deep Purple lead singer and Whitesnake’s newest CD is “The Purple Album.” You fool no one if you want to attend this show. All tickets are standing room only and run $30 plus additional fees and taxes.
June 11, 2015, 7:30 p.m STEVEN WILSON at the Mesa Arts Center, Piper Repertory Theater in Mesa. He wasn’t really known during the “classic rock” era, but he’s carried on the torch, especially in his belief that albums should be heard in their entirety. He’s fronted progressive rock bands such as Porcupine Tree and Blackfield and helped, among others, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull remix classic albums. His fan base might be few, but loyal, as his show is sold out.
June 11, 2015, 7:30 p.m THE ROBERT CRAY BAND at the Mesa Arts Center, Ikeda Theater in Mesa. Celebrating forty years with his band as a guitar wizard and blues master, this tour supports Robert Cray’s latest offering “In My Soul.” Ticket prices are $25 and $35 plus and fees and taxes.
June 11, 2015, 8 p.m. ROBIN TROWER at The Showroom™ at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. This virtuoso guitarist might be spotted on the bridge of sighs even if he’s just twice removed from yesterday. His show is currently showing as sold out but if new tickets pop up, tickets run from $25 to $65 plus fees.
June 13, 2015, 8 p.m. AEROSMITH at the Gila River Arena in Glendale. This is the opening show on Aerosmith’s 2015 Blue Army tour. You might be crazy for cryin,’ livin’ on the edge, dreaming on or walking this way, but if you’re done loving in an elevator then you should get back in the saddle and go to this show. It will be full of sweet emotion. Tickets range from $35 to $150 plus fees and taxes.
June 14, 2015, 7 p.m. PETER FRAMPTON and CHEAP TRICK at The Pool at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. He’s shown you the way. He’s felt like you do. He’s loved your way. They are the dream police who may want you to want them before you surrender. Combined they have two of the biggest selling live albums ever released. Just in case your vinyl versions are worn out, why not see them in person? All tickets are standing room only and run $50 plus fees and taxes.
June 18, 2015, 7:30 p.m. ART GARFUNKEL at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts in Gilbert. This performing Art is the one with the curly hair, who along with Paul Simon penned some timeless music, including one of the most beautiful songs ever written, “Bridge Over Troubled Waters.” Tickets run from $55 to $125 plus fees and taxes.
June 19, 2015, 8 p.m. TEARS FOR FEARS at the Wild Horse Pass Casino Ovations LIVE! Showroom in Chandler. You might shout and be head over heels if I told you everybody wants to rule the world. But if you’re apt to be sowing the seeds of love, this is a concert for you. However, the show is showing as being sold out, so call in your favors if you want a ticket to this performance.
June 19, 2015, 8 p.m. MARSHALL TUCKER BAND at The Lounge at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa. You might have heard them in a love song. Perhaps you saw their fire on the mountain. Can’t you see, admission is free.
June 20, 2015, 8 p.m. AIR SUPPLY at the Wild Horse Pass Casino Ovations LIVE! Showroom in Chandler. You’ll love this show because they’re the one that you love, all out of love and lost in love. Many have shown their love because tickets, which are priced at $38 to $99 plus fees, are moving fast.
June 26, 2015, 8 p.m. THREE DOG NIGHT at the Wild Horse Pass Casino Ovations LIVE! Showroom in Chandler. Bringing joy to the world with their old fashion love songs, you’ll be the one to celebrate even if you’ve never been to Spain. But this concert is in Arizona, not Oklahoma so it does matter.
