Too many people kept quiet when they should have stepped forward and done something about the situation. Everyone knows now about the scandal involving Josh Duggar from “19 Kids and Counting” since the news is overwhelmed by reports of his indiscretions as a teenager. CNN news shared a story yesterday that the official police report was ordered by a judge to expunge Josh’s record of all his wrongdoings.
The public has been outraged over just how many people and organizations knew what had happened twelve years ago and remained tight-lipped about it. Josh’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar kept the secret to themselves for over a year before revealing Josh’s so-called mistakes to the church elders. The church elders even kept things under wraps for three months before Jim Bob too Josh to the police and a report was filed. The Arkansas state trooper that was involved gave Josh a stern talking to, kept quiet about the situation and no actual criminal charges were filed. Later a judge ordered the case against Josh to be expunged from his record when he turned eighteen since these incidents happened while he was still a minor.
That isn’t all either; it seems that the Duggar family was preparing for an appearance on the Oprah show back in 2006. Someone forwarded an email to her network alerting Oprah of the molestation report on Josh. Oprah didn’t have the Duggar family on the show, but did provide the authorities with the information of Josh’s teenage crimes and nothing came out about it even though they were alerted to the situation.
Now we are hearing that TLC was also aware of what happened and they too kept quiet. The public is curious and upset that so many people knew, they all kept quiet and didn’t seem too concerned for the welfare of the girls that were molested or that Josh should have been held responsible for his actions since he was of age to know right from wrong.
Devoted fans were upset that Josh and Anna Duggar moved to Washington, D.C. and weren’t present for many episodes of “19 Kids and Counting” as they would have liked. Being able to see all their favorite family members on the show missed their presence since they were now so far away from where the show in Arkansas is filmed. Since Josh’s job contract was for a two year stint fans weren’t seeing as many updates of Josh and Anna’s growing family as they hoped to see.
Josh and Anna currently have three children with one on the way. It seems now that Josh’s contract is coming to a close he may be relocating his family back to Arkansas to be closes to the rest of his family. It seems they have purchased a home in Benton County for $55,000. The five bedroom home totaling 2,985 square feet should be more than adequate for their large family.
Because of the statute of limitations law Josh has gotten away with the crimes he committed as a teenager. The media on the other hand now has the public in an uproar over the situation and is rightfully taking it out on Josh over his incestuous actions and how the truth was hidden despite many having knowledge of what had transpired when he was a young teen. Still, fans who love Josh and Anna and all the other Duggar family members are supporting them and the reality television show, “19 Kids and Counting” with comments, stories, tweets and campaigns to keep the show on the air with TLC and to get it back up on the current lineup of shows to be aired since it is the number one viewed show on television thus far that families enjoy watching together.
