In Tampa Bay, our choices of dining locations offering delectable delights would fill multiple volumes with the many restaurants at our beck and call. One such restaurant is Joe’s Crab Shack located at 2730 Gulf to Bay Blvd. in Clearwater open Sunday through Saturday from 11 AM to 12 AM.
Only positive comments can be shared about the atmosphere, service, and quality and quantity of food at this gem in Tampa Bay. Let’s get started.
Atmosphere – It’s lively, upbeat, busy, and it can be loud with patrons talking and oh yes, with the servers who stop in the middle of what they’re doing, line up in the middle of the restaurant, and sing and dance. Too fun. You can’t help but sing along. You never know when they’ll take to the floor providing entertainment.
Service – An A+ across the board is in order for servers from the playful bibs they bring out to customers preparing to chow down on lobster to checking in at each table to ensure customers have everything needed to enjoy the meal.
Food – The steampot selections are full of flavor and come in a variety of choices such as Snow or Pacific Dungeness crab, shrimp, Maine lobster, crawfish, and scallops and mussels. If crab is on the agenda, consider the Crab Daddy Feast that’s guaranteed to satisfy your craving for sweet, tasty Snow, Queen and King crab.
The platters won’t let you down when it comes to perfectly prepared fish or shrimp. The Go Shrimpin’ is a favorite with a sampling of jumbo fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, and fried shrimp stuffed with crab meat served with creamy coleslaw, crisp fires, melt-in-your-mouth hushpuppies, and jalapenos and cream cheese poppers.
Drinks – Stop by for happy hour if you get the chance and sip one of their unbelievably delicious Margaritas or other creative cocktail like the Category 5 Hurricane that will knock your socks off.
Dine inside where there’s plenty of room or dine on the outside patio that also has plenty of space. There’s even a play area with equipment for the kids within full view of the patio.
