Jill, Derick and Israel may be away from the family while doing mission work in Central America, but that hasn’t stopped them from being able to communicate with their families in the United States. Technology is a wonderful tool enabling family members to chat, share live feeds, send photos, messages and emails to each other as well as update their blogs and websites from afar. This is a blessing they are all thankful for, allowing them to keep in touch, document Israel’s progress and inform everyone on the results of how they are being a service in the field of their mission. According to The International Business Times on August 16 Jill and Derick take a break from their mission work to enjoy family and friends at the wedding of Michaella and Brandon in Tennessee over the weekend.
The Dillard’s are making plans to a trip back home to the United States sometime in October. Jim Bob, Michelle, Derick’s parents and all their siblings are so looking forward to sharing time together again with Jill, Derick and Israel. It seems that Jill, Jessa, Michelle and Israel were also spotted in New York City at Times Square by an adoring fan on August 13 They were hanging out at a Starbucks in Times Square and later spotted visiting the M&M’s World candy store together.
This unannounced trip back to the states is due to the fact that Jill will have a segment with her sister Jessa on the television special “Breaking the Silence” hosted by TLC that is due to air on August 30 at 10:00 p.m., EST. It is also news that the entire Duggar family will be present at the wedding of Michaella Bates and Brandon Keilen in Tennessee that will be televised on Uptv. Fans are hoping when they watch the “Bringing Up Bates” wedding they’ll be able to see a special appearance of Jill, Derick and Israel while the wedding ceremony commences. Jana Duggar also happens to be one of the bridesmaids at the wedding too.
Jill and Derick made an appearance at the wedding in Tennessee. The Bates wedding will air on Uptv during one of the show’s episodes of “Bringing Up Bates”, no specific date has been set when the wedding will actually air just yet. Fans of the Bates show who, are also fans of “19 Kids and Counting” will be excited to see both the wedding and a glimpse of some of the Duggar’s in attendance. Now that the wedding is over Jill and her family will be heading back to Central America to continue in their missionary work.
Jill shared short videos of Israel playing and giggling everyone was able to view. One of the social media services she is using is called “Face Time”. By using this service Jill was able to be present at the birth of Anna and Josh’s daughter, Meredith. The entire family is thrilled that this type of technology is available when one or more family members are too far away to just visit or call on the telephone.
Originally Jill and Derick wanted to keep their mission trip quiet and as private as they possible could. Since they will be staying in Central America for an extended period of time the locals have become very interested in their family and are very curious about Israel. Jill has made it known that she fears for the safety of her son while being abroad. With that in the back of her mind, she changed the way she felt about their privacy and started posting updates to the family and other tidbits so fans back home that fell in love with their little family can be kept in the loop of what they are doing in El Salvador and witness the changes in Israel as he grows into an active toddler.
Jill is now constantly sharing news about how they are coping with their new environment, the adventures they are experiencing, how they are interacting with the locals in the area as they spread the word of God. Jill is also taking advantage of her time there to try and learn a new language. She is asking the women in the villages how to pronounce this, how to spell that and what, is the meaning of other words she repeatedly hears. Jill is having a little difficultly learning Spanish, but is determined to be fluent so she’ll be able to communicate with everyone during their time in Central America. Jill has said in some posts that she feels Israel will have an easier time picking up the language when he beings to talk. All three of them are being given the opportunity to absorb the area’s culture and language while they visit towns and villages in the area as part of their charitable work. They also plan on completing a language school in order to communicate better with the people using their native language.
The latest news is that Jill, Derick and Israel will have company on their trip back to the mission field. They are bringing along Joy-Anna Duggar and Carlin Bates to share the experience they have been involved in. No one knows for sure how long Joy –Anna and Carlin will be staying or when the entire group will be ready to head back home again. Well wishes to them all as they explore the area and help teach and learn new things themselves and with everyone they come in contact with in the villages they visit.
It must have been great for the Duggar’s and Bates families, these past few days. These good friends were able to gather together for a special occasion while the Duggar’s spent some quality time with Jill, Derick and of course their grandson, Israel. Israel seemed to thrive on, all the attention he got from his grandmother, Michelle Duggar, who hasn’t seen him in person in over a month. Wishing Jill and the whole group a safe trip back to Central America or wherever their mission may lead them in the days to come.
