“19 Kids and Counting” stars Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, who have outed themselves as victims of brother Josh Duggar’s child molestation, said their parents locked their bedroom doors to protect them after learning of Josh’s sexual abuse.
Jessa and Jill said their mom and dad, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, also put locks on the boys’ bedroom doors to prevent further molestation, and had the boys and girls play at different times.
“My parents said, ‘Okay, we’re not going to do this hide and seek thing where two people go off and hide together,’ ” said the girls.
Jessa and Jill made the stunning revelations to Fox News (see video) to show their parents did try to protect them once they found out Josh had sexually molestes five underage girls when he was 14 years old.
Jessa and Jill staunchly defended their brother Josh, saying he’s not a pedophile or a rapist, and the press has blown his past child molestation out of proportion. Jessa and Jill have forgiven Josh, saying he feels bad enough for his past actions.
“I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist,” said Jessa. “That is so overboard and a lie. People get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims.”
Their dad and mom, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, have also spoken out to defend Josh’s molestation, which he committed when he was 14 years old. “This was not rape or anything like that,” said Jim Bob. “It was touching someone over the clothes. It was, like, a few seconds.”
TLC Under Fire For Not Canceling ’19 Kids and Counting’
Josh, 27, and the Duggar family and their hit reality TV show, “19 Kids and Counting,” have been slammed for weeks amid reports Josh sexually fondled six underage girls (including sisters Jessa and Jill) when he was 14.
According to a bombshell police report, Josh fondled the girls’ breasts and genitals, in some cases when they were asleep. Josh’s dad, Jim Bob Duggar, told authorities Josh had apologized to his victims and they had forgiven him.
Jim Bob has come under fire for waiting more than a year after Josh confessed to being a child molester before contacting the police, who received criminal complaints about Josh’s molestation from his other victims in 2006.
Meanwhile, TLC has been barraged with complaints from viewers, who want the network to cancel “19 Kids and Counting.” For now, TLC has pulled the show from its lineup but has not officially canceled the hit reality TV series.
Another TLC star, Honey Boo Boo’s mother, Mama June Shannon, is threatening to file a lawsuit against TLC for not immediately canceling “19 Kids and Counting” after Josh Duggar confessed to being a child molester. Mama June’s lawyer believes he can win a jury verdict for $1 million if the lawsuit goes to trial.
TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” in October 2014 after Mama June resumed dating ex-boyfriend Mark McDaniel, a convicted child molester who had served jail time for sexually abused an 8-year-old girl. That child was later revealed to be Mama June’s daughter, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, who discussed her sexual abuse in subsequent TV interviews.
