Jessica Simpson is reportedly on he way to hitting rock bottom with her drinking. Simpson has been showing erratic behavior for the past few years and now her family feels it is time to step in and push Jess to rehab according to a Thursday, September 24 report from Radar. Recent reports have revealed that Jessica’s drinking has gradually worsened and that her family feels that if she does not accept help for her substance abuse issues she will soon crash and burn.
“She has a substance-abuse problem,” a source revealed to the media about the 35-year-old. “She’s taking Adderall and anti-anxiety pills. And on top of that, she drinks.” It appears that Jessica Simpson’s family including husband, Eric Johnson, as well as her parents, Tina and Joe Simpson and sister Ashlee, are finally in agreement that she needs professional help.
As previously reported things came to head for Jessica when she was accused of appearing live on HSN wasted. Jessica Simpson was described as out of it during her 2-hour sell-a-thon, giggling, and slurring. Drunk Jessica was a popular topic on the social media Twitter as viewers looked on amazed that she would be permitted to appear on live television in that condition. Fans compared Jessica’s appearance to a train wreck that they just couldn’t look away. The majority of the comments were brutal, and it did not help matters at all when Jess’ mom Tina joined her daughter on stage. A move that led many in the audience suggesting she came on to try and cover for her daughter’s bizarre behavior.
“They’ve known for a while that she has a problem,” the source said. But after fans slammed Simpson for appearing “wasted” during an HSN appearance, it “was a huge wake-up call.” Both HSN and Reps for Simpson insist she was 100% sober, but her family is still concerned. Jessica’s family proposes that instead of Jessica checking into the usual 28-day program, the singer attempt an at hope rehabilitation.
The family is said to already looking into in-home recovery programs and high-profile rehab centers. “They’re leaning toward in-home because they know Jessica will never agree to be separated from her children (daughter Maxwell, 3, and son Ace, 21 months.) Everyone is hoping that if they find the perfect option, Jessica will finally accept the help she needs.” Hopefully, Jessica Simpson will take advantage of the love and support and assistance her family is willing to offer her at this time before something terrible happens.
Do you believe Jessica Simpson should take the rehab opportunity her family is prepared to offer?
