Jazzy Group US has become a leading promotion company when it comes to bringing Kpop groups to the United States. Acts such as Block B, Boyfriend and Topp Dogg have all performed in American cities thanks to the company. Most recently they held a fan meeting in three cities for the hot JYP Entertainment group known as Got7. The boys of Got7 visited San Francisco, Chicago and Dallas allowing fans to see them perform several of their hit songs as well as play unique games with them that involved musical chairs and blind folds.
Jazzy offers unique opportunities for fans that other companies don’t seem to bring to the Kpop concert scene. Other promoters often include the typical hi-touch opportunities that can be found at many Korean events, but Jazzy seems to go beyond that to try and encourage fan engagement. Hi-touch is when the artists stand in line and the fans go through and hi-five each one. Each fan gets to have that special moment where they get to see their favorite group up close. Jazzy goes one step further, often involving games or the opportunity for the artist to select people from the audience to join them on stage. This provides an extra level of excitement and a change to see the group members personalities really shine as they take a short break away from performing.
At Got7, game participants were selected before the events. For the musical chair game, fans were chosen randomly from a contest held on the Jazzy Group US facebook. Just as one would suspect, the game was musical chairs and it involved the winners of the contest and the members of Got7. Hilarity ensued as everyone fought to make it into the finals, even going so far as to push members of Got7 out of the chairs and onto the floor. Two winners were crowned and awarded prize bags from sponsor YesStyle.com. For the blindfold game, seven people from each city were selected that created unique cover videos of one of Got7’s songs. The company selected their favorite ones and these fans were chosen to go on stage and be blind folded. The members of Got7 stood behind the contestants and made sounds to try and confuse the fans. It was nearly impossible to distinguish whose voice was whose. At the Chicago fan meeting the girl in front of BamBam was able to pick out his voice and was also awarded a prize bag.
These kinds of events just don’t get seen at other Kpop sponsored concerts and helps Jazzy become one of the most popular promoters in the US Kpop industry.
