It seems like Jared Leto has a new motto for his neighbors, which very well might be “let them eat pie?” Leto came bearing gifts to his neighbors after ruffling their peaceful feathers by throwing a raging Halloween party in his new home.
According to the New York Magazine on November 27, Leto had just moved into his new Laurel Canyon home this fall when he threw a party where his guests “wreaked havoc” in an ordinarily quiet neighborhood. Apparently this was not the impression that Leto wanted to leave with his neighbors, so he embarked on some local damage control.
For the Thanksgiving holiday Leto picked up a bunch of pumpkin pies and delivered them to his neighbors. To make sure the neighbors knew how the pies made it to their front stoop, Leto wrote on the box wrote: “Happy Thanksgiving! From: Your Neighbor, Jared Leto.”
The Daily Mail reports that the peace offering of pies seemed to pay off for the “Dallas Buyer’s Club” Oscar winner as one of his neighbors who got one of those pies wrote on his Twitter page a big thank you. Craig Brockie tweeted a photo of the pie Leto dropped off along with the caption: “Happy thanksgiving to you too @JaredLeto. Thanks for the pie. So good. Welcome to the neighborhood!”
It is not known just how many pies the 43-year-old Leto dropped off to his neighbors, but it seems at least one neighbor was ready to let bygones be bygones with that lovely Twitter thank you .
According to TMZ in an article from last month One of Leto’s Laurel Canyon neighbors took to the neighborhood Facebook page, saying, “Perhaps you could educate all the people coming to your place the proper etiquette of driving uphill/downhill so as to not wreak havoc … your guests should respect the residents and not park on the wrong side!”
Another neighbor referred to Leto as a “D” for not getting a shuttle service for his party goers. While a few cranky neighbors decided to reprimand Leto via social media, the police were never called, so the party couldn’t have been that bad. TMZ did report that some of the other neighbors actually defended Leto on that same Twtter page telling the peeved-off neighbors to chill.
