Today Film Auditions is reporting that actor James Lorinz is starring in the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures feature film “Bridge of Spies”. James Lorinz spent much of his early acting career making a name for himself starring in such feature films as “Frankenhooker”, “King of New York”, and “The Jerky Boys” just to name a few. Over the last decade or so, Lorinz has taken a hiatus from acting to focus on being a steady father and husband outside of the world of the entertainment industry. Now, he has returned to his roots as a profoundly entertaining performer.
Lorinz recently completed shooting the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures feature film “Bridge of Spies”, appearing opposite two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, Academy Award nominee Alan Alda, and Academy Award nominee Amy Ryan. “Bridge of Spies” centers on American lawyer, United States Navy officer, and politician James Donovan, who is recruited by the CIA during the Cold War to help rescue a pilot detained in the Soviet Union. “Bridge of Spies” is directed and produced by three-time Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg. James Lorinz also recently appeared in the indie feature film “Laugh Killer Laugh”, starring opposite Independent Spirit Awards nominee William Forsythe and Golden Globe Award nominee Tom Sizemore.
James Lorinz was born in Flushing, Queens. He attended New York City’s School of Visual Arts. Lorinz made a name for himself starring in such feature films as the cult classic “Frankenhooker” playing the lead role of Jeffrey, and the comedy film “The Jerky Boys” starring as “Brett Weir”. Lorinz also had memorable roles is such films as “King of New York” starring opposite Academy Award winner Christopher Walken and Academy Award nominee Laurence Fishburne, and “Mr. Wonderful” starring opposite Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon and Primetime Emmy Award nominee Annabella Sciorra. Lorinz is also a talented screenplay writer, having written and starred in the 1994 feature film “Who Do I Gotta Kill?”.
In addition to his feature film credits, James Lorinz has also enjoyed a very successful television career. His credits include being a series regular on the CBS series “City” playing the role of Victor Sloboda. He has played guest starring roles on such show as “NYPD Blue”, “The Practice”, “Brooklyn South”, and “Judging Amy” among many others.
“Bridge of Spies” is set to hit theaters on October 16, 2015.
