Each and every passing day seems like a treacherous fight for a lot of people in today’s busy and self sufficient world. Work, school and home life seem to grab for each of us every minute of our lives and in the mix of it all try and find time for self. Over time individuals become reliant only on self and usually forget the strength of God that has been given to us all that call on God and are His own. Years pass by and anything regarding a spiritual walk is disregarded as fairy tale and if there is a God then He just wants us to work hard and do good; the end.
“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25 NKJV).
The question remains at this point, “Is that truly how life is suppose to be?” The answer is absolutely not! Yes we are to work, take care of our families, and spend time with God, but all this must be done in the Spirit and power of God. When we ask the Lord to strengthen us and to flow through us with His Holy Spirit, He is then there by our side to help when we ask in complete and total faith.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20).
Living and relying on the Spirit does not mean life will magically become easier or that we do not need to do anything because the Lord will do it for us. But rather it helps us get through the tough stuff that life throws at us, it helps us push through walls we have never and could never push through without Him. It helps drive us in the right direction and on the right path God has set before us and in all of this we touch other people’s lives with a sense of hope and a glimmer of our Gracious Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ, because without living by the Spirit this cannot be done as only the Spirit of God can save and bring the lost to Christ.
“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” (Romans 8:9).
In the chaos of life today we all must learn to rely on the Holy Spirit, being sensitive to the Spirit and His calling. We must learn to flow and walk with God each and every day. If you do not believe this, but say this is fairy tale, then you may want to reread the Bible and readjust your stance with God, because living by the Spirit is a central part of the Christian life. No matter what your life may hold and push against you, remember that it’s all about the flow.
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14).
