A spiritual journey does not mean to devalue your human experience or issues that are here on earth. Everything supports this journey if you allow. These things are all your tools and are all your teachers available to you. When an issue shows up, it is teaching you something. The value is that this issue has something to tell you about your thoughts.
When an issue seems to be disruptive in your life, look at it. Your interpretation of the issue needs to be changed. See if it was a thought or interpretation passed to you subtly or subconsciously and has become a part of your life as real and true. It may have originated from a parent, television, society, magazine, church, or academics. Change this borrowed thought and interpretation to one of your own.
Interpretations from these sources have become your reality and how you have continued to create your illusions. These interpretations greatly affect how you live your life, how you interact in relationships, how you pursue your career, how and why you seek God, etc.
From these interpretations, you create your beliefs. Your beliefs govern your decisions. From the decisions, you may have various experiences that you do not like. These are your choices. Fortunately, you can choose again and change your life. And that change begins with your thoughts and interpretations.
See life as a restaurant menu. Sometimes you choose something that you end up not liking. However, you do not condemn yourself for the rest of your life for making that choice. It will be remembered, but not as something to condemn yourself from enjoying life. The next opportunity you have to select something from that menu, you will recall the experience and choose differently.
Life is the same. When you make a choice and do not like the results of that choice, choose differently next time. It is that simple. Be okay with having made that choice because without making that choice, you would not have known that you would not like the experience. Many times you will not make the perfect choice.
You are not here to be a perfect spiritual being, you are here to have a human being experience, which is not perfect, which is subject to change, which is an illusion, and which is not reality. Stop trying not to be a human being.
It’s easy to get caught up in trying to be the perfect spiritual being, thinking that our spiritual journey is to take us back to being a spiritual being, but we are already perfect spiritual beings. We are already that which we seek to become.
