A Daily Word from the Word for Tuesday, July 28, 2015
“Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes.” – Song of Solomon 2:15
We need to get the devil out of our details, family! This interfering foe is manipulating our details in such a way that, for many of us, we are not experiencing the expected breakthrough of our God-given promises.
Many times, it is the little things tended to which clear the way to our biggest victories. The attention to small details will help open up the flood gates of provision. Conversely, allowing the devil to stay in those seemingly-inconsequential nooks and crannies of your daily life, can block, cover, or cloud you from seeing things clearly as they relate to your Divine destiny and Kingdom eternal purpose.
What little foxes are you allowing to spoil your vine, my brother? Are you giving the foxes of frustration, doubt, unbelief, resentment, annoyance, tolerance, procrastination, or avoidance free reign in your harvest of hope, my sister?
Allow me to give you an example of how I allowed the little fox of frustration to interfere with my tasks at hand. Some months ago, I would get very frustrated having to shave after I had taken a shower, because the steam made it virtually impossible for me to see myself clearly enough in the mirror. I would have to repeatedly wipe away the steam in between strokes. Until one day, God’s Holy Spirit said to me “why don’t you shave first and then shower.” Duh, why didn’t I think of that? So simple, yet so impactful.
Some of you might be saying, “Brother Matt, Holy Spirit isn’t going to tell you that, it came from you.” I can tell you, because of God’s training, I have become very good at discerning His voice versus my own thoughts. And herein lays another strategy of both the devil and our own intellect: we become dismissive of God’s voice, and then wonder why He “doesn’t speak to us,” when in actuality, the Great I Am has been speaking all along—we are choosing to not acknowledge His voice. Now I am not saying to get all spooky, but what I am saying is learn to be sensitive to God’s Spirit of Truth (John 16:13).
How do you get better at telling the difference between His voice, the devil’s voice, and your own thoughts? By daily study of God’s Word, constant practice in hearing and yielding yourself to the Father’s teaching and leading—submitting to His Spirit.
Now back to the topic at hand. A simple solution of adjustment to a minute detail yielded tremendous results. You see, my frustration was hindering my sensitivity to God’s Spirit concerning daily instruction. When my ability to hear God’s voice is impaired, I miss critical insight, perception, and direction. And so do you.
While the bigger and more obvious things most certainly need to be dealt with, as they could be destiny thieves, and even destiny killers, it is the smaller and more subtle nuances that could be equally as detrimental; albeit, they take longer to do the damage needed to see the negative impact.
This is why it is so important, especially in this new season, to be more sensitive than ever to the whispers of the Father’s Holy Spirit. While we may be waiting to hear the strategy or solution to that which we are seeking and believing God for, we may miss the sounded alarm of a little fox, which is wreaking undetected havoc in our lives; thereby identifying the subtle hindrance needed to obtain the promise.
Father, remove the scales from our spiritual eyes, that we may see clearly the adjustments that need to be made (Acts 9:18, Psalm 119:18). Give us laser beam precision to see the enemy altering any detail from what it should and needs to be. Help us to identify and catch every little fox that is spoiling our daily harvest. Grace us through every adjustment that You require us to make. In Jesus Name, we thank You for heightened sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit, which exposes all truth. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to be more attentive to the daily details in your life. Determine to spend more time in God’s Holy Spirit, seeking the adjustments you need to make which will bring about great results. And continue to fight the good fight of catching the little foxes; for God, your Eagle Vision, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
