Nike athlete Charl Schwartzel captured his first win since 2014, recording a four-shot victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship on Sunday in his native South Africa.
Schwarzel’s victory was the second in as many weeks on the European Tour for a Nike athlete following four-time major champion Rory McIlroy’s season-ending triumph at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Both players wore the new Nike Lunar Control 4 footwear and played a Nike RZN Prototype golf ball and Nike Vapor Prototype driver,
Schwartzel, 31, who won at the same venue in 2014 and is the 2011 Masters Champion, finished the tournament third in greens in regulation on his way to posting a 15-under-par four-round total.
In addition to the Nike Lunar Control 4 shoes, Nike Vapor Prototype driver and Nike RZN Prototype ball, Schwartzel used Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons and a prototype fairway wood and putter as he sealed his fourth Alfred Dunhill Championship, becoming only the third South African in history to win 10 times on The European Tour.
