Creative play is becoming increasingly popular as are arts and crafts based toys and games. Recently Redwood Venture L.T.D., released a product called the “IDO3D” (“I do 3D”) which enables children ages 8 and up to craft 3D sculptures of out gooey ink. A safe kit that does not require the ink to be heated, the box includes five pens and a booklet full of templates that explain how to craft figures like palm trees, monkeys and even dragons!
Kids can create 3D art by simply drawing, connecting and constructing designs using IDO3D’s 3D “printing technology” which really just requires squeezing ink out of the specially crafted drawing pens and tracing a template. Then let the goo dry and add additional goo to certain parts (as outlined in the directions) to “build up” and thereby make the flat figures turn 3D. The “printing ink” contained in the IDO3D pens (which come in red, yellow and green) magically transforms liquid into solid in seconds–and it is aided by the inclusion of a black-light spotlight. When you shine this UV bulb onto the ink, it dries quicker.
Kids can use the familiar form factor of a pen to draw numerous designs, either from their own imagination or from the 3D Guidebooks that are included with each set. IDO3D is safe, affordable and easy to use; it also enables children to get in touch with their creative side. The set retails for $24.99. To learn more, see the official website.
