A little boutique in Dilworth became a saving grace for two wedding parties on their respective wedding days in Charlotte, North Carolina this past year. No, they didn’t run in for something old, new or blue at the last minute. The couples weren’t low on wedding favors or in need of replacement attire. The boutique they visited was a medical boutique…and it saved their marriages…sort of…
Hydrate Medical, a unique boutique medical center, opened its doors in the Dilworth neighborhood in August of 2014. Since opening one year ago, Hydrate Medical, Charlotte’s first and only professional hydration clinic has transformed how a patient can manage and improve his or her own health and wellness in record time. “We have given Charlotteans a way to live healthier and more energetic lives—and a way to recover faster from jet lag, athletic training, viral illness and even overindulgence,” said Jonathan A. Leake, M.D.; coowner of the boutique clinic. Over the past year, Hydrate Medical has:
- Provided 1400 treatments to over 600 patients
- Supported charities including the American Heart Association and March of Dimes
- Assisted with local school initiatives
- Helped those with cancer and other chronic illnesses
Currently, the hydration clinic sees 100 patients (with half being new patients) and provides nearly 200 IV treatments per month. With the momentum of their current success, they are looking to expand in 1-2 cities in North Carolina and the southeast in 2016. After a year of service to happy patients, the owners, Jonathan A. Leake, M.D., Keith Parris, ACNP-BC, and Drew Harrill, MPAS, PA-C, have quite a few stories to tell. Two such stories involve patients embarking on lifetimes of marital bliss (names have been changed for HIPAA compliance):
The exhausted bride and proactive groom
Katherine, from Charlotte, worked and lived with her fiancé, Nick, in Tennessee. They planned a beautiful big Charlotte wedding bash remotely from out of state. As the wedding approached, Katherine and Nick found themselves exhausted and just worn out from all the planning and work to reach their wedding day. Both knew they needed ,an energy boost and a friend recommended us. We treated the bride with an energy boosting IV drip (Hydrate Jet Lag $159) 48 hours before the wedding.
The groom, though, knew he had an exhausting (and fun) night out with his groomsmen planned on the Friday before the wedding. So he schedule a Saturday morning post rehearsal, pre wedding appointment. Nick received a Hydrate Epic Hangover treatment with IV b12 medications for nausea, headache, and heartburn and other vitamins and anti oxidants. Katherine and Nick both loved the treatments, claiming immediate boosts in energy and wellness. They were both ready to take on the wedding day festivities.
Katherine and Nick seem to have been on top of things when it came to getting in gear for tying the knot. When planning for a marriage, it is always a great idea to be proactive. But face it, some people just plan for the fun and rely on others to help deal with the consequences. Check out the second story the guys from Hydrate Medical shared:
That’s what friends are for
Zack flew into town Thursday night for his Saturday wedding in beautiful South Charlotte. As many grooms do, he got tied up in the festivities and with old friends. On Friday night he had a little too much to drink. His groomsmen found him Saturday morning in pretty bad shape. Fatigued, nauseated and suffering from a severe headache, Zach was not at his best. Luckily, his friends brought him to us first thing Saturday morning, and he received a Hydrate Epic Hangover IV. In less than an hour Zack’s nausea and headache were gone, and he was feeling much better. He called two hours later saying he left much better with renewed energy and was excited to be back to himself for his wedding.
The guys at Hydrate Medical have also treated numerous bachelor and bachelorette parties to help them recover and continue to enjoy their weekend. They give half off for grooms/brides if treating three from the wedding party, and grooms/brides are free if treating five or more.
To celebrate their one-year anniversary, Hydrate Medical is offering new and current patients $20 off any package until September 31st. Clients should mention “anniversary special” when booking their service online or via phone for the discount. They currently employ six emergency medicine licensed RNs and one paramedic in the clinic. They use an approach that involves administering antioxidants, vitamins and minerals into the body to provide the quickest and most effective relief for all clients.
