Hulk Hogan issued an apology for saying the N-word eight years ago while making a sex tape. At that time, he was talking about a black man dating his daughter Brooke. However, Radar Online, July 24, 2015, reported this isn’t the first time he’s come under fire for being a racist. Hulk Hogan owns a restaurant Hogan Beach located in Tampa, Florida. Last year, there was controversy drawn to it over the implemented dress code sign. Apparently, the restaurant had a very strict and a very different dress code for anyone wanting to enter the eating establishment as it seemed aimed against one particular group of people. The dress code stated, “No Excessively Baggy Attire. No Low hanging pants or shorts. No hats, caps, or visors worn sideways. No Do-Rags, Skull Caps or Bandanas. No Oversized or Excessive Jewelry.” He also banned plain white T-shirts or any large T-shirts that went past mid-thigh, high-top sneakers, or workout clothes. Camouflage clothes are allowed, but only if you have a valid military ID. This type of clothing is usually popular in the African American community.
The sign with the posted dress code even broke its own rules. It features Hulk Hogan wearing his trademark bandana. Even the promotional video may have broken another rule with the one man wearing camouflage shorts. No word on whether he had military ID either. Hulk said he knew nothing about the dress code as he only licensed his name to the restaurant. However, he did say the dress code was not intended to sound racist. TMZ talked with an employee at that time about the dress code. The employee told TMZ the dress code was strictly enforced only during concerts. Hulk Hogan allegedly looked into the matter and then changed or removed the dress code. Radar Online obtained a copy of the Florida Secretary of State documents which shows that Hulk Hogan is the owner of Hogan Beach.
Now, Hulk Hogan is under fire for saying the N-word and other slurs during a sex tape with a woman named Heather. The audio transcript contains vile, hate filled words against African Americans. Hulk resigned from WWE, according to his lawyer David Houston. However, the WWE issued a statement to say that they immediately fired Hulk Hogan when the news broke. They have removed his name, pictures, and video from their website.
Do you think Hulk Hogan knew about the dress code at the restaurant? If so, do you think he helped make up any of the rules? Post your thoughts below in the comments section.
