What is SHAREit:
SHAREit is a free file transfer app that is downloadable to most hand held devices such as smartphones, tablets, PC’s and even iOS such as iPads or Mac’s. This application allows you to seamlessly share files with devices within range such as data, files and complete folders, media, pictures and entire photo albums. It even allows for the transfer of apps from one device to another. The app allows for group share, under most circumstances and is great for school projects, business meetings and even just among friends. It is not necessary to have an active wi-fi network, bluetooth and it does not require any data usage. The SHAREit app is safe to use and does not, in any way, compromise the security of your device. File sharing and receiving can be turned on and off as needed
How to Use SHAREit:
After the initial download onto any device such as a hand held tablet, PC, phone, iPhone, iPad or a Mac to name a few. The app will essentially walk you through the remainder of the process. After opening the app, it will automatically detect any compatible device within range. There is no need for an active Wi-Fi network, to connect using a USB or enable Bluetooth capabilities.
The app will give you the option, clearly, to either send or receive a file. If you are sending from a iOS the the device must be on the same network as the receiving device in order for the transfer to take place. If you are transferring a file to a device that does not already have the app, there is a “invite friend” link that enables the user to send an email containing the link to download the SHAREit app. Once the SHAREit app is downloaded, the option to send or receive files is prompted on the screen. Simply chose the option to receive the file and the transfer will commence. The good news is that SHAREit is also available for PC. Read this post to understand the exact method to download SHAREit on PC.
The files are sent via a mobile WI-Fi radio link and therefore accumulates no date usage.
How to Transfer Files Using SHAREit:
You must first ensure that both devices have the app launched. Then choose the perspective role, (ie, one must ensure that they are actively enabled to send data and the other must actively be enabled to receive data). Make sure both devices are connected to you wi-fi radio network.
SHAREit transfers files up to 40 times faster than a Bluetooth connectivity. Larger files like complete folders will take longer to transfer and receive due to the amount of data being sent over the connection. To receive files you must first accept the invitation to share files. Once that is completed, sharing within that “session” is ready to be commenced. After you chose to send a file, a browser option will come up and you can then safety chose which data, file, entire folder, contact, media or even app that wish to transfer. You are able to share files with up to five devices at one time.
NOTE: Currently iOS does not support Off Network sharing and the PC version does not support Group sharing.
