Still can’t choose a place to celebrate Thanksgiving? Here are four of my favorite Palm Beach County eateries – each serving up great Turkey Day meals and cocktails.
The Office in the heart of Delray Beach’s popular East Atlantic Avenue is offering an a la carte brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that features a variety of traditional favorites, including a turkey sandwich with cranberry fennel jam, brie, arugula, and Dijonnaise on rye bread; traditional eggs Benedict; sausage stuffing frittata served with field greens and home fries; bagels with lox and caper cream cheese; and a pancake stack with raspberry compote, lemon whipped cream, and warm maple syrup.
After brunch, the buffet commences with a purée of butternut squash soup with hazelnut cream and a Waldorf salad. Carving stations are lemon-thyme, traditional roasted turkey, garlic-rosemary roasted duck, and house-smoked honey glazed ham. Sides include sausage stuffing, buttermilk mashed potatoes, molasses sweet potato casserole, caramelized onion and crimini mushrooms, green bean casserole, and cranberry-pear compote. The desserts will include pumpkin pie, key lime pie, baked apples with Greek yogurt, candied walnuts, and honey drizzle.
The price is $40 per person, plus sales tax and gratuity
A few blocks east of The Office, 50 Ocean will offer some great views of the beach and Atlantic Ocean along with a menu that includes roasted turkey, pretzel-gouda stuffing, green bean gratan, whipped sweet potatoes, traditional gravy and a spiced pumpkin tart. Cost is $45 per person not including tax and gratuity.
Make sure to hit up the bartender for some great holiday-inspired craft cocktails that include Ginger Gingerbread (Svedka Vanilla Vodka, Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur, Butterscotch Schnapps, Ginger Beer, Cinnamon Stick); Winter Solstice (Grey Goose L’Orange, Disaronno Originale Liqueur, Simple Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice, Powdered Ginger, Sugar); Pumpkin Martini (Ketel One Oranje Flavored Vodka, maples syrup, fresh pumpkin; and Pumpkin Margarita (Don Julio Añejo Tequila, Cointreau Triple Sec, 100 percent organic agave nectar, pure squeezed Valencia, Hamlin orange juice, Persian lime juice).
About 30 minutes north of Delray Beach – Palm Beach Gardens – Spoto’s Oyster Bar will serve a traditional Thanksgiving menu as well as seasonal, sea-to-table entrees, and surf-and-turf classics.
The menu will include a roasted turkey dinner, New Orleans Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon, Grilled Black Grouper, Seafood Fettucine, Maine Lobster and Alaska King Crab.
On Palm Beach Island, Chef Rick Mace at Café Boulud will serve a three-course hliday menu from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Appetizers will include Pumpkin Veloutte and Roasted Beet Salad; the entrée will be a Heritage turkey prepared three ways and desserts will include pumpkin pie and apple tart tatin.
The meal is $89 per person and $45 for children 10 years and younger.
