Tuesday was another warm and humid day despite cloud cover and even some showers as well; at Philly Airport the high reached 85(we should be 73) after a morning low of 68(average low is 55). There was 0.14″ of rain that fell this afternoon, but the heaviest stuff stayed to our north and west; that will change overnight with heavy soaking rains(1-2″ possible) as lows will just be around 70.
Wednesday will continue to provide heavy showers in the morning which will taper off by the afternoon(except along the shore). Highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s with a southeasterly wind. The cold front then stalls offshore so it will remain cloudy with an onshore flow as well with some heavy rainfall to the south and east. Highs will just be in the 60s! Same thing goes for Friday was we get more moisture to work with thanks to Joaquin to the south with highs remaining in the 60s, but then the front FINALLY pushes away a bit for Saturday morning.
We’ll stay cloudy with highs around 70 while more rain pushes in by the late afternoon with another area of low pressure from the Gulf as Joaquin is poised to stay to our east; it’s a VERY TRICKY forecast to pinpoint the tropical system, BUT with the combination of the ex-front, Joaquin, & then the other tropical system there will be TONS OF HEAVY RAIN. This can lead to flash flooding as well as a good easterly fetch there will be some minor beach erosion as well. By the time the weekend is over we could see at least a 5-day total of 5-8″.
