On “Nashville,” Hayden Panettiere has come to face facts that her character, Juliette Barnes, has issues far bigger than any means of self-medication that can be delivered by bottle or doc-shopped prescription, and “not ready” or not, she at least has walked through the doors of rehab. Hayden herself bravely confronted her own feelings of overwhelming sadness back in mid-October, and entered treatment for postpartum depression, and became a bold advocate for many young mothers who can feel overcome by the surging, mixed emotions of motherhood, without the injurious bent toward baby or self. This weekend brought great reason to greet the public world again for Panettiere, according to today’s November 30 news, as she was aglow with a smile, and cheering for her fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, as he battled Tyson Fury at the IBF IBO WBA WBO Heavyweight World Championship, even donning a silky Ukrainian flag.
Fury has been stirring up controversy regarding fears of being drugged by those in Klitschko’s regime, particularly since the towering Ukrainian champion has won the title for the last 11 years, but there was no controversy about Hayden Panettiere’s passionate allegiance. She went for a schoolgirl preppy look in her cream-colored sweater with black stripes, paired with a short pleated skirt in plaid, and sporting black tights. The ensemble was topped by her brown fedora. Her smiles for the camera were bright, but through the intensity of the bout, her eyes spoke volumes, as she welcomed her love into her arms, blood coming down from his brow. She held one hand, and wrapped her other arm around Wladimir leaving the ring.
While no wedding ring is part of her wardrobe just yet, the pair proved to Düsseldorf and the rest of the world that they are solid as ever as a family with daughter, Kaya, who will turn one next month. The parents share parenting duties, and have stayed in communication throughout the actress’ stay in treatment. Kudos to her and the writers are earned for putting forth her real-life struggle with sensitivity and compassion. She hopes that her openness in sharing the condition in real life and on her drama will continue to inspire confidence for others in the battle “that it does heal,” and now that she’s ready to show the progress and positive difference that seeking help can make, future plans for the “two or three more children” that she hopes to have with Klitschtko can move full steam ahead. No definite date has been given, but expect Hayden Panettiere back on set and on stage with “Nashville” shortly after the new year. The petite blonde played cheerleader, Claire Bennet on “Heroes,” and proved herself a cheerleader for Wlad. Now it seems that she deserves the cheers for reclaiming a healthy and whole life.
