Kerry tells Capitol Hill to back his administration proposed Iranian Nuclear agreement or face dire consequences. Possibly Kerry was forewarning of the ominous consequence that Iran’s Ali Khamenei Tweeted to America in an image of Obama of a gun to his head. Written upon the image are the following words, “We welcome no war, nor do we initiate any war, but if any war happens, the one who will emerge loser will be the aggressive and criminal US.”
To use a phrase, “blasphemy” the words as well as images put forth by Ali Khamenei may seem to America as more of a threat than diplomacy. It is however clear Iran squarely put the blame on America for whatever actions Iran may undertake as it relates to the possibility of war. On an international level the image depicted is the reverse of what Charlie Hebdo the cartoonist of Paris drew, whom was assassinated, but the image is more dire and direct.
This is not the first time Ali Khamenei has spoken against the deal negotiated between the United States and Iran, nor is it the first time he has spoken against the United States and its allies.
On July 14, 2015 Ali Khamenei previously had made his position disfavor ably clear leaving Secretary of State John Kerry citing the comments made as “very troubling”. Yet negotiations went forth and now the United States debates the merits of the agreement.
Presently on Capitol Hill it has been reported that support for the Iranian Nuclear Deal continues to erode as more limited but secretive details of the agreement are exposed. While the general public perception is the deal put forth differs the immediate problem to a later date while providing Iran un restricted upward economic mobility with the ability to purchase additional military hardware on the open market.
It appears at present there is more work to be done before an agreement can be reached and the agreement as it presently stands favors Iran more so than the international community.
Should the United States and Iran eventually come to a sound agreement as it pertains to Iran’s nuclear limitations, the agreement should not contain secrets within secrets. In addition as good faith on the part Iran, Iran should immediately release the four American prisoners held in Iran with no questions asked. As long as these four United States citizens are held by Iran, Iran should be viewed as terrorist nation an America has always adhered to its long standing policy whereby it doesn’t negotiate with terrorist!
In Ali Khamenei is the Supreme Leader, guardian of the land. Powers given to him by the leadership council that consist of over 70 Islamic members. Under his guardianship no political law maybe endorsed until it is his approved by him. This policy extends to the democratic election of Iran’s President, until Ali Khamenei acknowledges the newly elected president, the president of Iran may not assume his limited duties as entrusted by the people. The true power in Iran is with the Supreme leader know as Khomeini.
Ali Khamenei sees the United States as the one who has consistently denied Iran its alleged right to dominant the Middle East for which Iran has consistently sworn death to America as well as Israel. It is Ali Khamenei which President Obama and John Kerry negotiated with indirectly on the Iran Nuclear Iranian deal. Two separate leaders in continents apart, separated by two completely different ideologies centuries apart that may decide each countries course of action. One of which is the President of the United States who see himself in both worlds and the other who has made his counterpart his sworn enemy. However it is Congress that will ultimately decide whether to endorse the agreement put forth or not.
