“Green Lantern” may considered to be the “blackest night” of all superhero films with Ryan Reynolds, that always go-to guy for superhero movies that includes next year’s “Deadpool”. Now, “Green Lantern” is all powered up for its “brightest day” as the reboot entitled “Green Lantern Corps”.
Scheduled to be released on June 19, 2020, the premise of the film is described as “Lethal Weapon in space” between Hal Jordan and John Stewart, according to JoBlo. To illustrate, “Green Lantern Corps” may become a buddy superhero action comedy like the Booster Gold-Blue Beetle film that is set to be in the works. Hal Jordan and John Stewart are two fan favorites of the intergalactic police force that is dedicated to keeping peace, order, and justice from the might of evil forces. Reynolds played the role of devil-may-care test pilot Jordan in the previous film that didn’t escaped the sight of literally being a summer superhero bomb.
Whether it be Jordan or Stewart, Green Lantern still plays a vital role in the DC Comics Cinematic Universe: helping “UNITE THE SEVEN” in forming the Justice League on the big screen alongside Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash, and Cyborg. That will begin with “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice”, which comes out on March 25, 2016.
