The 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai golf tournament on the European Tour is taking place this week from November 19-22, 2015, at the Jumeirah Golf Estates located in Dubai, UAE. Here is a list of the prize money up for grabs for the golfers, including American Patrick Reed, at the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
This is a big and notable golf tournament because it is the climax of the European Tour Race to Dubai. The top 15 golfers in the season-long European Tour Race to Dubai will get bonus money payouts after this season-ending tournament. The bonus money ranges from $1.25 million for 1st place down to $100,000 for 15th place. The top 15 players who played in three out of the four Finals Series events can also earn additional bonus money ranging from $625,000 to $10,000.
The DP World Tour Championship, Dubai has been played annually since 2009. Defending champion Henrik Stenson owns the record for the most wins in the tournament with two (2013, 2014). The other winners of the tournament are Lee Westwood (2009), Robert Karlsson (2010), Alvaro Quiros (2011), and Rory McIlroy (2012).
Total prize money up for grabs at the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai is $8 million not counting any bonus money payouts the players will receive from the season-long European Tour Race to Dubai contest. The amounts shown below could vary a bit based upon ties and if any player withdraws. There is no cut in this tournament of 60 players. All players will earn a paycheck and the 60th player is guaranteed $22,400.
- Winner – $1.333 million
The winner of the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai will earn a very cool paycheck of $1.333 million. If the winner also wins the European Tour Race to Dubai he will earn an additional $1.25 million bonus bringing a potential payday to $2.58 million. If the winner also played in three out of the last four tournaments he will also get another $625,000 bonus bringing the total potential payday to a whopping $3.21 million.
- Second place – $888,900
Second place is worth $888,900 at the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. Players who have finished second in this tournament include Rory McIlroy, Victor Dubuisson and Justin Rose who all tied for second last year. Justin Rose also finished alone in second here in 2012. Ian Poulter finished alone in second in 2010 and 2013, and Paul Lawrie was alone in second in 2011.
- Third place – $520,000
Third place at the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai is worth $520,000. Players who have finished alone in third place in this tournament in the past include Victor Dubuisson in 2013 and Luke Donald in 2011. In 2012, Luke Donald also finished in third but he was tied with Charl Schwartzel that year. Rory McIlroy finished alone in third here in 2009.
- Fourth place – $400,000
Fourth place is worth $400,000 at the 2015 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. Players who have finished alone in fourth place in this tournament in the past include Joost Luiten in 2013 and Peter Hanson in 2011.
- Fifth place – $320,000
Fifth place at the 2015 DP World Championship is worth $320,000. Players who have finished alone in fifth place in this tournament in the past include Shane Lowry in 2014, Louis Oosthuizen in 2012, Charl Schwartzel in 2011 and Rory McIlroy in 2010. In 2013, Luke Donald, Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood all tied for fifth place here.
Beyond fifth place, we have prize money payouts of $260,200 for 6th place, $232,000 for 7th place, $216,00 for 8th place, $200,000 for 9th place and rounding out the top 10 is $184,000 for 10th place. From there the money drops by $8,000 increments from $168,000 for 11th place to $96,000 for 20th place. Then the money drops by about $2,000 for each spot until you get to $22,400 for 60th and last place.
