The Gold Cup 2015 live stream and TV time for Jamaica vs. Mexico arrives on Sunday evening as the championship will be decided. Earlier this week, Jamaica was able to grab a 2-1 upset victory over the United States to advance to this final. Now, either the upset-minded Jamaican team or the Mexican team that stayed in their semis matchup on a controversial call, will be able to call themselves Gold Cup champs. Live streaming online and TV coverage arrives via Fox Sports networks Sunday.
According to Fox Sports in their July 26 report, Mexico is vying for their 10th title in this matchup, as well as a spot in the Confederations Cup playoff against the United States on Oct. 9. Today’s matchup will take place on U.S. soil in Philadelphia, with Team USA expected to be here. Jamaica was also expected to be an underdog in their group, but ultimately won Group B instead of the expected team, Costa Rica. Both Jamaica and Mexico won close semifinals matchups this past week to make it to the final game.
For Mexico, they seemed close to defeat, trailing 1-0 to Panama, but a controversial call by an American referee allowed them a penalty kick which helped tie the game. Mexico ultimately won 2-1. That was the same score for Jamaica, who scored twice in just the first half, leaving Team USA reeling and unable to find an answer in the second half. Now Jamaica is looking to create the underdog “Cinderella” story of this version of the Gold Cup, by pulling off another upset at the expense of Miguel Herrera and “El Tri.”
Odds makers have Mexico as the slight favorite with a moneyline price of -109 for today’s game. Jamaica is priced at +290 as the underdog team, while a draw is priced at +260. For the over/under goals total, books have that listed at 2-1/2 goals for the game. Mexico, at 6-4 odds, had been the favorite to win the Gold Cup at the start of the tournament, while Jamaica was priced much higher as an underdog with 66 to 1 odds. Teams that backed the Jamaicans early enough may be looking at a handsome reward if they capture another win in today’s final.
The Jamaica vs. Mexico Gold Cup 2015 final has a scheduled start time of 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Live TV coverage will arrive from Fox Sports 1 for United States viewers. Live streaming online coverage can be seen by cable and satellite subscribers with access to Fox Sports Go web portal or mobile apps. There’s also a live stream feed available for Soccer 2 Go subscribers for today’s game, while Sirius XM satellite radio may provide live audio coverage on channel 94.
