The third annual GIRLS Empowerment Seminar: Empower YOU DC edition is slated to be one of the best! Navigating the world for a teen girl can be overwhelming, challenging, and exciting. On Saturday, July 18 from 10 am- 2 pm, girls will learn some tips and techniques on how to take the world by storm.
Empower YOU is inviting attendees to come out and learn about ways to stay empowered, the art of writing, and creating opportunities to empower young girls to be strong, powerful, and healthy. IN THE LOOP Program of Success in association with Blu Topaz, Inc. Educational Consulting presents GIRLS Empowerment Seminar: Empower YOU as a part of their ongoing commitment to create engagement opportunities that uplift and educate.
This year’s seminar also serves as a collection point for gently used shoes for the “Leave a GOOD Footprint” Campaign organized by Save The Earth Projects (STEP), a non-profit organization started by Olivia Brown to help deliver shoes to people in developing countries. “Service is a big part of what we do – so providing girls with a chance to build their self-esteem/self-value while helping someone else makes this seminar even more special,” states Carletta S. Hurt, Director of the IN THE LOOP Program of Success.
GIRLS Empowerment Seminar: Empower YOU is about giving girls tools to build self-awareness, increase self-value, expand their inner and outer beauty and create healthy habits promoting a long and healthy lifestyle. Our opening session facilitator is Youth Coach and Counselor, Felicia Meadows.
In addition to the opening session with Ms. Meadows, the seminar will consist of workshops designed to engage, entertain and expose the young girls to something new. From fitness fun, leadership styles, to expressing herself through writing, the GIRLS Empowerment Seminar: Empower YOU features something for every girl.
“Our speakers, presenters and panelists bring an amazing array of skills and talent to this event. The program is going to inspire, motivate and encourage girls in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area,” Hurt shares. “Our philosophy was developed under the belief that it takes a village to raise a child. So, we are extremely grateful for our session leaders and partners.” Some of this year’s partners include Pretty Girls Sweat, A LEGACY Left Behind, Tomorrow’s Future Coaching and Consulting, Booked for Review, and Camille Parris Events.
