Perry Clark Home has a line of apothecary items such as candles, bath and lotion products and more. Lifestyle Examiner received two samples, a candle and a bottle of body oil. The candle is in glass and looks clean. The scent is in the Flower series: Lilacs in Bloom and is aromatic without being overly perfumed or too heady. One really nice feature is the wooden wick. When lit, it crackles similar to what you’d hear from a small fire. There is no smoking and it burns clean. (It runs about $40.) We light it bedside before meditating and prior to bed–it sets a nice mood.

The body oil is also in a glass bottle with a push pump; it is yellow in hue. There is a good amount for an oil product; generally, other manufacturers oils come in much smaller bottles or even vials. The product contains: sesame, jojoba, avocado and Vitamin E. At first we were turned off by the fragrance: Honeysuckle and Grapefruit. It just seemed pretty strong.
We took it to the gym and pool and applied it after our ritual: water walking, sauna, whirlpool and shower. It was a bit hard to put on and we wondered if that is because our skin was so dry or because we should have left our skin wet and in retrospect, we suggest putting it on while skin is still damp.
The strong smell dissipates after its on the skin for a while and the skin area is kind of oily but not greasy to the touch at first, but then the body oil compound soaks into the skin and does a good job of moisturizing and makes it feel smooth.
We look forward to sampling their other products and we were quite taken with many things in their home textiles, entertaining and other kitchen-ware lines. The website contains many products and would be a great place to shop for gifts for any occasion. By the way, they come beautifully boxed with a silk mauve/silver ribbon tie.
