Raise your glasses and down your fill this weekend with the 2015 installment of the Gettysburg Brew Fest. Taking place on location at Seminary Ridge, Brew Fest is a newer annual occurrence that marks good drink and one of the Lutheran Theological Seminary’s most important fundraisers. This year marks its second year running and expects continued success.
The Gettysburg Brew Fest is a highly sought-after event that comprises of 3.5 hours of unlimited samplings of craft beer and hard cider. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22. The event will run through that evening with an 8 p.m. conclusion. More details on times and what the event includes can be located here.
Tickets are now on sale for the event and can be ordered in advance by clicking here. Tickets for VIPs are already sold out. Other passes such as general admission, designated driver, and Historic Taverns of Adams County, and Seminary Ridge Tour are still available. But you better act fast. The 2014 festival completely sold out prior to the event. There will be a total of 2,000 general admission tickets available. Whether tickets may be purchased at the door is dependent on how many tickets are sold online in advance.
You can enjoy unlimited samplings from more than 125 different brews. Brewers come to this event from all over the state of Pennsylvania as well as venturing in from other states, near and far. Nearby Maryland brewers participating in the event include Brewer’s Alley, Evolution Brewing Co., Full Tilt Brewing, Monocacy Brewing Co., and the Raven Beer. From Ohio there will be Great Lakes Brewing Co. and Angry Orchard Hard Cider. Wisconsin brewers include Sprecher Brewery and Cider House Wisconsin. From Illinois there will be Goose Island Beer Co. and Lagunitas Brewing Co. From Vermont will be Long Trail Brewing, Magic Hat Brewing Co., and Otter Creek Brewing. New Holland Brewing hails from Mississippi. Sixpoint Brewery will be coming in from New York. Deschutes Brewery will be making its way all the way from Oregon.
In addition to hard ciders and crafted brews, there will be plenty of other options including soda and water. Designated drivers may enjoy unlimited soda. Additionally, four onsite food truck vendors will be dishing out snacks and light fare. This year’s vendors will include Uncle Moe’s Soul Food, Mad Dash Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Uncle Paul’s Stuffed Pretzels, and Pork Authority BBQ.
Please note that Gettysburg Brew Fest is intended for adult participation only. Nobody under the age of 21 will be permitted entry into the event, including designated driver ticket holders which must also be at least 21 years of age to attend.
Limited parking to the event will be at Lutheran Seminary behind Valentine Hall. There will be additional parking located along Springs Avenue as well as at the YWCA, after 3 p.m. Rabbit Transit will also be provided ongoing shuttle service to and from the downtown transit center to the Brew Fest, at a rate of $1 each way. Additional parking options include the Tom Livelsburger Kia Lot and Borough Parking Garage on Race Horse Alley.
