Stitchers airs at 9pm on ABCFam, Tuesday nights.
Who else needs about fifty pounds of chocolate to cope with that preview for the season ender?
This episode showed us the most fun side of Stitching as a mcguffin–Kirsten stitches a psychic and mostly sees stuff that hasn’t happened yet, like the murder of a co-worker who turns out to be the killer anyway. She gets a little residual clairvoyance, which is so cool. All of that, and their debating about whether it’s real or not? So much fun. The visions she had about Cameron lying in the corpse cassette? NOT SO MUCH.
See, last week, we were introduced to the idea that Cameron has a literally fragile heart, and this week, we were told over and over again that it’s still a problem: the psychic gives him a crystal to protect his heart, he mentions it more than once, he gets punched and Kirsten flips out and almost lets that chick get strangled, she sees him dead and literally screams his name twice…and then the finale-promo makes it look like that happens, and that it’s her worst fear.
Here’s to hoping that’s all fake-out. A test of the machine that registers him as dead when he’s not. Because if the cliffhanger is that he’s flatlined, as I said on Twitter, I’ll die and they’ll have to stitch me!
This episode, also, Linus has to deal with how he told his parents last episode that he was delieriously happy about his new girlfriend and then didn’t have the heart to tell them that he’d made that up because then it’d bring up why, and he couldn’t tell them about his classified job. Lots of fragile hearts this ep. So he talks her into going to dinner with them, and she ignores all his attempts to tame her (as she should) and totally wins them over hard, which both makes it harder for them to stage a breakup later, and makes her not want to as much. As we learned last episode, she didn’t have a family, and his is so warm and inviting that she doesn’t even care that they’re super-involved.
They’re so getting married because they neither had the heart to upset his parents.
And speaking of marriage, Kirsten finally, after two weeks, gives Liam an answer and it is the much-hoped-for No–she needs to figure out who she is and how she fits into the world, and she has a lot of questions to answer that she can’t talk to him about, and that’s all valid. It’s great, too, for her character that it’s not about Cameron; Liam was jealous and pointy about him all episode, but neither of them has made a move, so it’s honestly not about him. It’s about Kirsten being true to herself and maintaining her own identity. Making her own choices. And asserting her real self against the flattened, quiet self she is with him.
AND THEN, he’s seen calling someone mysterious and sounding surprised that she turned him down and asking “what’s Plan B?” We all knew he was too good to be true, but now that that’s verified, what new complications is he bringing into the story?
This was an emotional whirlwind of a second-to-last-of-the-season episode, with cute flirting, edgy truths, pointy now-exes, new story bits, fun sciencing the fiction, and a set up for a really rough season finale. Here’s what we’ve seen in the 20 second clip:
- Kirsten sees her mom in the stitch
- Cameron holding someone who looks to be Kirsten’s particular shade of blonde
- Cameron in the Cassette
- Kirsten wearing her stitch suit panicking that he’s not responding
- K saying she wasn’t born with Temporal Displasia
- Cameron asking her to really trust him
- Cameron also saying that he needs to keep her safe
It’s going to kill us in the feels.

Samantha tweets about TV a lot and can’t remember if ABCFamily comes back in six months or a whole year and is sort of panicked that it might be a whole year.
