The village of Peninsula is offering visitors a chance to create some special holiday memories when they attend the village’s family-friendly Christmas in Peninsula event being held over three upcoming Saturdays (December 5, 12 and 19) that is packed with a wide range of holiday activities that can be enjoyed by all age groups. The best news is that Peninsula is only a 32 minute drive from Cleveland.

Saturday, December 5 is Reindeer Day in Peninsula and Santa’s live reindeer will be on the Green next to Bronson Church from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Visitors will be able to meet and greet the reindeer, learn more about the animals at the educational display and pick up a recipe for magical reindeer snacks for Christmas Eve. Children can also participate in an animal tracks activity and possibly win a prize. Red Rudolph noses and antlers will be for sale with the proceeds going to the Akron Zoo’s “Care for a Critter” program.

Other activities on Reindeer Day include Christmas craft making and a showing of the movie “Prancer” at the Peninsula Library, seeing real lambs from Spicy Lamb Farm (at the Yellow Creek Trading Company), attending a Community Christmas Bazaar at Boston Township Hall (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and enjoy old-fashioned concerts and sing-alongs at Bronson Church (1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.). Several of the businesses in the town will be offering visitors light refreshments like cookies and cocoa. Santa himself will be there all days of the event (plus Sundays through December 20) to welcome the children. Santa will be appearing at Trail Mix-Peninsula from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Several businesses will be offering the free refreshments including free popcorn (Terry Lumber).
