Registration is now open for the Home Education Council of America’s 2015 Not Back to School Summit, which begins on September 8 and continues through September 26. Registration is free and includes access to all the presentations as well as 24-hour replay capability. Year-round access to the seminars is available for a fee. The 2014 Summit had 29 speakers and over 65 sessions. This year’s Summit may surpass that number, as presenters are already being lined up.
Some of the many topics scheduled to be covered in the upcoming Summit include:
- helping special needs children
- fun ways to travel on a shoestring with kids along
- self government
- science, math and history
- incorporating cooking into homeschooling
- building healthy family relationships
- encouragement for frazzled parents
- overcoming obstacles.
The Summit has attracted many experienced speakers, including Nicholeen Peck, Diana Waring, and Tresta Neil. Husband and wife team Oliver and Rachel DeMille will also be giving presentations. Even those who choose not to teach their children at home could probably take away some helpful parenting or teaching tips from this multiple-day event.
