If you ask his opinion about Floyd Mayweather’s chosen opponent for his upcoming fight, Amir Khan will surely say the undefeated boxer is really afraid of him. Last year, before the Maidana fight happened, Amir Khan was already taunting Floyd Mayweather Jr. to meet him in the ring; but unfortunately, Floyd decided to not to accept the challenge.
He has fought Maidana twice despite the British boxing superstar’s call for a title shot; and as usual, Floyd Mayweather Jr. just ignored him. Aside from the “Money Man,” his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. also joined the discussion regarding the issue; and according to the older Mayweather, Amir Khan is just a simple fighter and doesn’t deserve a title shot against his son.
He added that the British boxer is just an easy opponent to Floyd Mayweather Jr. After reading his revelation, Amir Khan immediately responded; according to him, Floyd should accept the challenge if he believes that he (Amir) is just an easy opponent. Again, Floyd had just ignored the discussion and continued to choose his opponent. Floyd landed to Manny Pacquiao.
For some boxing observers who were waiting for the two of them (Manny and Floyd) to face each other in the ring to know who the real pound for pound king is, Floyd had made the right decision because they really wanted to see that fight. Luckily, Floyd won the fight; he out-boxed Manny Pacquiao during that night.
After the game, many boxing superstars came out and revealed their interest to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the near future. Amir Khan had started the barrage; he called out the “Money Man” to face him in the ring if he really believes that he is an easy opponent. Aside from Amir, undefeated champions like Kell Brook and Keith Thurman had also expressed their willingness to fight the undefeated boxer.
Unfortunately, those boxers had failed to get the attention of Floyd. Instead of accepting the challenges, Floyd allegedly chose Andre Berto to be his last opponent. Some observers believe that Kell Brook and Keith Thurman, (both are undefeated fighters) could give a hell of a fight to Floyd Mayweather Jr. For them, Floyd might get his first loss if he fights either Kell Brook or Keith Thurman.
As a boxer/fighter, choosing Andre Berto is an intelligent move because he can easily beat Berto, a fighter who loss three of his six fights. But for some boxing observers, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a coward because he always evades boxers that could bring excitement to the boxing fans who always pay just to watch him fighting inside ring.
