Patrick Murphy, the 18th District U.S. Congressman representing St. Lucie, Martin and Northern Palm Beach counties, sent a message recently to his constituents entitled, “Honoring our Heroes”; in keeping with this, over the past weekend Rep. Murphy greeted local WWII veterans returning home from visiting Washington, D.C. through the Honor Flight program which provides trips for our veterans to our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., to visit our national war memorials, which stand in honor of their service. Murphy stated that he is always so humbled to greet these heroes and see the overwhelming community support for their service and sacrifice.
Murphy stressed in his message that these brave men and women who served our nation with honor and distinction deserve to be recognized for the heroes they are each and every day; from protecting military benefits to continuing to lead efforts to tackle the disgraceful disability backlog at the VA, Patrick Murphy has been committed to fighting for our veterans in Washington. Most Americans were appalled to find out how our most valuable citizens were being neglected after all if their sacrifice for our nation.
Congressman Murphy expressed to his constituents and made it quite clear that his office is committed to helping local veterans who need assistance right here at home, including requests for service medals and military records, VA pension and disability claims, and other federal agency matters. Navigating a federal agency can be difficult for anyone according to the congressman, but his offices are here to make sure that every veteran’s case gets the attention and care it deserves.
We as Americans must always remember to ‘do the right thing’ for ourselves and our fellow Americans and always remember that when it was necessary our now veterans stood and fought for us all and made great sacrifices, some of which has changed or caused discomforts in their personal lives. So we must always ‘Honor our Heroes’ with adoration and respect in providing their needs without complications.
