Luxury cruisers are getting their first look at the exterior of Seabourn’s new Seabourn Encore, the 600-guest ultra-luxe ship that will launch in December 2016. Seabourn recently launched a microsite devoted to its latest ship, revealing its design in stages.
“Detail by detail, the creation of Seabourn Encore has been exciting to behold and share. The new exterior renderings now posted on the ship’s dedicated microsite put Seabourn’s newest addition in perspective, and represent another milestone in the evolution of small-ship cruising,” says John Delaney, Seabourn’s senior vice president, marketing and sales.
Seabourn Encore will expand and build on the line’s award-winning Odyssey-class ships, were introduced between 2009 and 2011. Seabourn Encore will maintain the line’s high ratio of space per guest, enabling highly personalized service by close to one staff member for each guest on board. A sister ship, Seabourn Ovation, will join the fleet in 2018.
Seabourn Encore is being fashioned by hospitality design icon Adam D. Tihany, with contemporary interiors and modern design elements and innovations consistent with the line’s reputation for understated elegance. The ship will be configured with one additional deck and new expanded public areas, and a private veranda in every suite.
Seabourn in recent months has offered glimpses into some of the new ship’s interior spaces, including its Grand Salon, a lounge that will feature an expansive theater with pivoting chairs that are arrayed in cabaret style seating.
During the days and occasionally after dinner, the lounge will be the setting for lectures from guest speakers, cooking demonstrations, comedy, classical recitals and more. Most evenings will feature dancing before dinner on the Grand Salon’s main dance floor, and following dinner will include vocal production shows and cabaret performances and more.
Another lounge space on Seabourn Encore will be The Club. This will be another venue for music, dancing and entertainment programs. The lounge, to be located on Deck 5 of the 12-deck vessel, will be arrayed with contemporary seating with yachting references visible in the furnishings, design elements and balustrade.
The Club will feature custom-crafted cocktails and fine wines, canapés served at cocktail hour, and live music before and after dinner. In addition, The Club will house an intimate, full-gaming casino, where guests wishing to indulge in games of luck and skill can test their odds on a variety of slot machines and blackjack and roulette tables.
Seabourn Encore will depart on its first voyage Dec. 4, 2016, from Athens, a 60-day Arabia, India and Asia Exploration.
