The first ever Bentley Bentayga was seen off the assembly line at the Bentley production facility in Crewe, England, according to an article published on Tuesday by Indian Cars Bikes.
The Bentayga is Bentley’s response to a growing SUV market that is increasingly becoming more saturated with other luxury brands like Ferrari and Rolls-Royce attempting to jump into the game.
“Bentley Bentayga will be the benchmark against which all other SUVs are measured, defining a new segment, the luxury SUV,” Wolfgang Dürheimer said, Chairman of Bentley Motors. “This is an important moment in our history, where we reflect and celebrate, but also look ahead to delivering this extraordinary car to our customers.”
The 600 horsepower SUV is propelled by a twin-turbo 6.0 liter W12 engine that can propel the vehicle from 0-60 in four seconds with 664 lb. ft. of torque. An eight speed automatic propels the all-wheel drive vehicle. Currently, the Bentayga has the title of fastest SUV in the world with a rumored top speed of 187 mph. In 2018 car enthusiasts will find out if the upcoming Lamborghini Urus will take the title.
Although the first Bentayga is being sent straight to a museum to be preserved, potential owners can get one of the next Bentaygas for as low as $229,100. This price is reasonable to own the world’s fastest production SUV that features a barrage of features.
The Bentayga features more than ten new Driver Assistance systems for urban driving, off-roading and parking. At the driver’s fingertips are adjustable features that take hold in real time to soften or harden the suspension, show surroundings from one of several cameras around the vehicle or traffic sign recognition to watch the road when a driver could be distracted.
In conjunction with touch screens, navigation, entertainment systems and wood-trimmed interiors, the Bentayga is a great family driver option that advocates in favor of comfort for those who can afford to own one.
