While many fans have been waiting and waiting for news on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie sequel to be disclosed, there haven’t been clear details provided on “Darker’s” progress in the last few weeks. However, erotic author EL James recently shed some light for readers and film audiences alike this week with a few choice Instagram photos proving that planning is indeed underway. The Stir News reported this Friday, October 23, 2015, that James recently had a meeting with “Fifty Shades Darker” producer Michael de Luca. We’ve also recently received some clues as to upcoming filming dates for the hotly anticipated adaptation.
Contrary to popular opinion, the delays surrounding the next “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie aren’t nearly as serious as they have been made to appear. EL James, the worldwide bestselling inner goddess author of the steamiest trilogy in modern times, has taken to social media this week to confirm that she is working hard as ever on the production for “Fifty Shades Darker.” Her latest photos on Twitter and Instagram show that other major players in the sequel are also putting their efforts forward to make progress in good time.
It was earlier this season that we fans received an interesting clue regarding the filming dates for “Fifty Shades Darker” from Anastasia Steele actress Dakota Johnson, which were hinted to take place in early 2016. And despite the alleged delays in the planned schedule for shooting the film, James seems confident that things are moving forward as expected.
After putting the hashtag #working next to the photo of Michael De Luca’s nameplate, she then proceeded to post another great photo showing her, fellow producer Dana Brunetti, James Foley (who has signed on as director for “Fifty Shades Darker”), and James herself alongside Niall Leonard, her husband, who will be writing the upcoming script for the sequel movie. It seems that many of those alleging that there has been tension behind the scenes may need to recheck their opinions.
In a similar vein and according to an updated report via the IB Times this week, Jamie Dornan (our Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson have also confirmed this year that yes, they will be reprising their lead roles in “Fifty Shades Darker.” The next “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie executive team still has yet to confirm who will be playing some other major characters in the upcoming adaptation, including Mrs. Elena “Robinson” Lincoln, Leila Williams, and Jack Hyde. Of course, it is also very possible that some of these roles have already been filled, but no public announcement has been made.
As hard as the wait may be sometimes (and many of us “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans are used to long and challenging waits), that seems to be our only option until such casting information is disclosed. “Fifty Shades Darker” will be arriving on February 10, 2017, so we still have a year and a few months to go, while the third and final installment of this particular franchise, “Fifty Shades Freed,” will be arriving the following year in 2018. Let us hope that we audiences receive some interesting news regarding just what EL James and her team is working so hard on this week behind the scenes.
