On Aug. 27, 2015, Fifth Harmony premiered the music video for “I’m in Love with a Monster” from the “Hotel Transylvania 2” soundtrack. “Hotel Transylvania 2” arrives in U.S. cinemas on Sept. 25, 2015. Fifth Harmony premiered the video in New York City as part of a Vevo event. The girl group was also in New York for an Aug. 27 concert at Best Buy Theater.
As previously reported, Fifth Harmony has signed a deal with Candie’s to appear in the fashion company’s fall 2015 multimedia marketing campaign. According to a Candie’s press release: “The campaign creative titled,’5 Girls, 5 Styles,’ showcases the girls of Fifth Harmony outfitted in head-to-toe Candie’s, posing playfully in front of a backdrop of the brand’s signature color, pink. The girls are dressed in different Candie’s looks, chosen themselves, that reflect their personal style and show the versatility of the brand. Candie’s is available exclusively at Kohl’s nationwide and Kohls.com.”
Fifth Harmony came in third place on “The X Factor” U.S. in 2012. The five members of Fifth Harmony (Camila Cabello, Normani Kordei, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane Hansen and Lauren Jauregui) originally auditioned as solo singers but were rejected as solo singers and put together in a group by Simon Cowell and other decision makers on the show. Cowell (who was Fifth Harmony’s “X Factor” mentor) also signed Fifth Harmony to Syco Music, the record company that he owns with Sony Music.
Fifth Harmony has become the most commercially successful group to emerge from the now-cancelled “X Factor’ U.S. In October 2013, Fifth Harmony’s debut EP, “Better Together,” debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. Fifth Harmony’s first album, “Reflection,” debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in January 2015. The group’s first three singles (“Miss Movin’ On,” “BO$$” and “Sledgehammer”) have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Worth It” (featuring Kid Ink), the third single from “Reflection,” has been certified double platinum by the RIAA and was a No. 12 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The group has also won prizes at the Radio Disney Music Awards, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. In addition, Fifth Harmony has signed a deal with Mattel to sing the “Anything Is Possible” brand anthem for Barbie, and has an exclusive partnership to release a Fifth Harmony Barbie doll collection throughout the world.
