From September 17th to 20th, 2015, Bon Appétit presents Feast Portland: A Celebration Of Oregon Bounty 2015. This four day festival features a plethora events showcasing both Pacific Northwest ingredients and local culinary talent, as well as internationally known chefs and a range of industry professionals. Even though this event is almost two months away, already a number of events have sold out.
Following are the events where tickers are still available as of this posting.
The Widmer Brothers Brewing Sandwich Invitational Presented by Dave’s Killer Bread (Director’s Park) kicks off Feast Portland on September 17th from 6pm to 9pm. Guests will savor some wild tasty interpretations on what can actually be placed between two pieces of bread. A panel of food writers, chefs and personalities will select the best sandwich with the participants also voting for their personal favorite sandwich. Complimenting these sandwiches will be signature cocktails, Northwest wines and craft brews from Portland based Widmer Brothers Brewing.
On September 18th from 1pm to 5pm and September 19th from 12pm-5pm), Pioneer Square aka Portland’s “living room” becomes transformed into Portland’s “dining room” for the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting Presented by Alaska Airlines (Pioneer Courthouse Square). During this daytime event, one can sample the diversity of Oregon’s food-craft culture. Pair a wide range of sample bites with selections from over 30 wineries, more than a dozen breweries and Oregon ciders. Also, check out gadgetry, samplings and demos from high end names like Williams-Sonoma and Breville
Close out Feast Portland on September 20th, 2015 with the Tillamook Brunch Village Presented by Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card (Pioneer Courthouse Square). From 11am to 2pm, this Sunday midday celebration highlights a range of brunch items including Bloody Mary bars, Texas breakfast tacos, fried chicken with waffles and biscuit egg n’ cheese sandwiches.
Also tickets are still available for these Sunday Hands-On Classes: A-Game Coffee with Liam Kenna and Beer Bites with Christian DeBenedetti and Andrea Slonecker. Also, one can still get tickets to these Drink Tank Tasting Panels: I’m in a Cult, Margarita’s Moment, Pinot Noir: The Battle for Balance and Old MacDonald Had a Brewery.
Also, while the Friday Night Market is sold out, one can still go to this event by purchasing The Package: Five Marquee Events In One. This includes one pass to the Sandwich Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting, Night Market, Smoked! and the Sunday Brunch Village. Those seeking a package that includes accommodations can purchase the Feast Package + Hotel For Two which Includes two “The Package” passes, three nights stay (September 17th through 19th) in a premium king room at the Hotel Lucia and a Portland-Inspired Culinary Welcome Bag.
Net proceeds from Feast Portland are donated to their two charitable partners, No Kid Hungry and Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. To date, Feast Portland has donated $162,000 to aid these organizations in their efforts to end childhood hunger.
